Pshhhh.  Women bleed more than that from their period, you pansy.

I keeed, I keeed.  Glad it wasn't too serious.  I had a hole in my leg too once, and it bled like a spout for awhile like that.  It was like a faucet turned partially on.

Jeebus, what kind of women do you meet?

Before the nurse removed the bandage she asked "is it going to squirt out at me?" and I said "only if you get me excited. ", she lol'd.

One time, I was living my GF at the time, right after highschool.  Her friend was staying with us and had just gotten out of the shower.  After she left the bathroom, I went in to take a leak...........and saw that she left her panties with a used pad in them, sunny-side up on the floor.

I know there's never a "good place" to have a foreign object embedded in your leg, but looking at the wound and x-ray you were lucky despite the bleeding and stitches.

I've been punctured numerous times by chunks of metal on the job over the years and the smallest ones are still in there.
Getting the bigger ones dug out is no fun. Especially when they are in deep.

This is piece of cast iron was one of the worst, it went in very deep and hit a vein in my thigh. Bleeding was profuse.
It's also the only one I saved, just because of the reaction of the ER crew when they saw the x-ray.
It's actually shaped like a sunflower seed, but from the right angle it looks like a, well use your imagination . . .

LUCKY!  Everytime I've been hit it's either been in the face or my belly.

Hope you heal up quick. Chicks dig cool scars.

I still have half a 9mm slug in my left leg. The chunks in my left arm and scalp were removed by my family doc, and my GF at the time, respectively.

Was weird to walk into the ER with a gunshot wound, get X-ray'd, then sent home... basically: "rub some dirt on it and walk it off..."

They didn't even bother cutting out the fragments that were clearly visible under the skin of my arm/elbow and scalp at the time. Told me to take ibuprofin, and come back if I started bleeding again.

Did they remove the fragment?

One of those new biometric implants.

Is it the one linked to cell sites or the new one linked to GPS satellites?

Cool.

Congrats, your now a statistic.  You will probably be listed as a non fatal shooting injury once it gets reported.

Glad your ok.  This is the reason I keep telling people to wear safety glasses at the range.

Use caution when attempting an MRI if the metal is still in you. Make sure your physicians know it is there and inform the MR technologists. Depending on what body part needs to be scanned and the field strength of the magnet, it might be safe to attempt. The techs and their radiologist will need to make that determination and explain the risks vs. benefits to you before you go into the scanner. Worse case scenario is  the metal will get really f-ing hot and/ or torque around in the magnetic field leaving you in severe pain and possibly with a nasty burn. Personally, I would suck it up and have it removed. Of course I work in MR so YMMV.

I was once hit in the leg by an RC Airplane while at the flying range. Funny thing was, it was a Doctor that hit me! He ran over as I was screaming for an ice pack (yea, I had to do my own fucking first aid since everyone else froze up like a deer in the headlights)
Some young kid was the only one to respond and came running with a bag of ice.
My leg had a hematoma that looked like someone sliced a grapefruit in half and glued it to the front of my leg.  But the doc introduced himself as a doc and I asked him what type of doc? Gynecologist.  "Well Doc, you're not much help for me right now!"
"But I do have a prescription pad with me"   SCORE!  Got a few weeks supply of pain killers and drove myself home 20 miles.

Why didn't they pour gunpowder on it and ignite it? You know, to stop the bleeding.

I was going to continue to keep on running my squad and shoot but the wound was still leaking like the 2nd pic above after 10 minutes and didn't show any signs of stopping so it was off to Texas Med Clinic.

I did lose a sock though, poor sock.

you can use the other sock to polish your boots...
