One of my favorite Films.
Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate-Nails it. Brad Pitt=Bad ass like usual Leonardo=Totally self centered narcisist Margaret Qually=as Pussycat Meow!! My first GF in 1974 dressed like her-Halter top/super short cut-off jeans-Says to Pitt: Want me to suck your Cock?? Movie is a dark comedy-not everyone will "get it" It's been on Starz Encore. The ending Kicks ass as does Pitt. |
One of my favorites as well. Also the only Tarantino film that my wife likes.
Ending made it all worth it!!
PussyCat makes my Cock hard!! Robbie plays perfect Sharon Tate-even has all the late 60's dance moves down. |
I guess I'm one of the few in GD that didn't like it (or don't get it apparently). It was slow and boring until the very end.
What's your name?
“I’m the devil. And I’m here to do the devil’s business.” Nah. It was dumber n’ that. |
And it feels like it’s 3 years long when you’re watching it. Never understood the attraction. It’s a self indulgent Tarantino flick that’s whole purpose seems to be “look at how cool I can make this retro set look”. I thought it sucked. |
"Is everybody okay?"
"Well the fucking hippies aren't, that's for goddamn sure." |
One of my favorites. I went and saw it in the theater. The theatrical release and what's out now doesn't have the same scenes. They cut some stuff.

Figuring a 60's era Cowboy movie star ought to have his own pair of Colt Single Action Army revolvers. |

One of mine, and now my wife's, favorites. Love the nostalgia and the soundtrack. Pitt and Leonardo are perfect in their roles.
Don't cry in front of the Mexicans. |
Ending was wild. Good acting, no woke that I recalled and they nailed the 60s aesthetic

Good movie, slow pace but always something to keep your attention. Lots of great scenes and one of the best endings ever.
Actually, it may be a great movie. |
I thought it was an excellent movie, but some of the pacing is pretty slow and might be an issue on a rewatch. Some of the slow scenes had a great underlying suspense because you didn’t know where it was going to go, and even though what you were seeing was slow-paced, I still found myself watching it on the edge of my seat a little bit. Well-crafted. On a rewatch, though, that feeling would be reduced quite a bit, I think, and the scene might just be slow.
But it still had some great moments and wonderful scenes that weren’t like that. I LOVED that kid actor that Leo was working with. She did an *amazing* job, especially considering her age. |
The movie really shows off Leo's skills. He's an actor playing an actor playing characters and the way he bounced in and out of the roles was impressive.

I enjoyed it.
As others have said, it’s a little slow and long and there’s a lot of shop talk. But I liked it. As for the ending. It reminds me of a therapeutic technique where someone thinks about their most traumatic memories but they include someone who wasn’t there at the time to provide support. |

View Quote Every Tarantino movie has slow bits with a lot of dialogue. That, extreme violence, and women's feet are his shticks. |

Tarantino is a master of dialogue, scene setting, and nostalgia.
OUTH is his magnum opus meant to glorify classic Hollywood with revisionist history. |
About the only Tarantino movie I like.
I grew up in that period in So.Cal. Struck a cord w/ me. Great ending. |
I enjoyed it. I like movies that immerse you in another time period. I thought it did a great job of that. And Margot Robbie is off the charts.

I was impressed because the real life scum Tex Watson wielded a long barreled High Standard revolver, and Tarantino seemingly had his Tex use the same model gun in the "I know you" invasion scene.
DiCaprio should have won the Oscar, not Pitt. The Rick Dalton character was deeper, more interesting, better acted.
"I could be one pool party away from starring in a Polanski movie." Then, at the very end, the gates open (very symbolic) and he's ushered into the Polanski circle. That's great storytelling by Tarantino. |

View Quote The feet stuff always makes me a little uncomfortable and nowhere more than in this movie. I mean, I’m sure that the girls at Spahn Ranch were probably walking around barefoot a lot. But did we have to focus on that so intensely? Yes, because it’s a Tarantino movie. |

Good movie (four stars...)
Roman Polanski should have been decapitated in order for me to give it five stars The Bruce Lee scene was hilarious... |

second only to Basterds. Both would be in my death bed moviethon.

Quoted: The Bruce Lee scene was hilarious. View Quote Legit one of my favorite scenes in film history. I still can’t tell if Tarantino just got sick of the Bruce Lee hero worship or just thought it’s funny to see him thrown into a car door after talking a big game. ETA - I also get a little misty because Tarantino’s version is the story Sharon Tate should have had. |
