I wear these hats. Except OP's hat is a cheap one.
My grandpa used to wear one, that's why I like them.
I wear mine when my hair is messy, like when I'm in the 911 turbo cab. I couldn't imagine showing up for a job interview in one though, but it's been about 20 years since I had a job interview.

LOL!...well, his dad and I must be in the same age group because that's what a lot of people I know call them...or at least used to call them.

I think they are kind of a normal thing for some older car guys...for some unknown reason.
