Lots of people seem offended and want it torn down. I’m not from the south originally but when I do see it I’m not offended at all. I know young Americans died on both sides. I don’t think it should be erased from history or banned. Call me a racist,I don’t care. Woketards think they can just erase history.

Doesn't bother me in the least. One of my neighbors flies the stars and bars.

With the exception of recent woke trends most folks I know feel proud by it.  But most folks I know see it as a symbol of the south and pride and nothing to do with racism…

For reference, I lived in GA for nearly a decade.

If I see it down south, I think nothing of it.  I saw enough black folk with it on their porch or Black Sons of the Confederacy doing demonstrations with it to know there is zero association to color for many.

If I see it up north, like here in PA, I assume you're white trash and moved here from NJ or NY.

I see lots on my back road motorcycle rides. Doesn’t bother me other than some are tattered and need to be replaced with a new one.

It was all over the place until the Charleston shooting, when the media and leftist agitators seized the opportunity to pretend it wasn't. And I mean fucking everywhere, the only flag or symbol more common was the US flag and seeing them together was also very normal. It was on clothes, cars, accessories, everything. Black and white people would wear it because it just meant the South.

It flew over state capitols and local monuments and memorials, as much as most politicians try to pretend it didn't. It was an incredibly common thing. And then all of a sudden it wasn't.

Doesn't bother me, unless it's an obvious attempt to disrespect a person or people.  I'm sure many plenty believe that is the case anytime it is flown, but that isn't he case.  It's part of the culture and history for lots of people.

I still like Lol Jon and the Eastside Boys on occasion

I'd like to find a poster form their album covers where they're holding the rebel flag...I'd put it next to my Kanye West for president 2024 flag

It reminds me that when different units show up wearing different uniforms, some even wearing the uniforms of their opponents another type of marker is necessary. And Politicians never have solutions.

I understand that after the American Civil War that the victors allowed the defeated to retain this stuff as a peace offering so we all could just get along, be brothers, etc.

This is kind of a rarity in war as the norm is to round up all the defeated, imprison some and execute the officers for war crimes.  Then burn/destroy any flags, symbols etc of the defeated side as message that it’s over, you lost.  Victor’s justice as it’s often referred to.

Perhaps it was a mistake the Union was so lenient on the Confederates as we then wouldn’t be having this debate now.

It's our heritage and it should be respected.

Transplant opinions do not matter.

In the end, I don’t care.  Doesn’t bother me nor does it give me joy.  I’m not going to hoist it up either.  I feel exactly the same way in regards to the rainbow flag.  It’s freedom of speech, per se.

I can see that’s it’s a symbol of southern pride and heritage.  The symbology doesn’t stop there. If you think that is all it represents then you’ve cancelled part of the history behind the symbology.

Simply read the secession documents as they were written, not the translation.  Read what was written, by the original authors.  Not some translation by a Southern apologist or a woke liberal.  Then those views were rallied behind the stars and bars.

It's the history of the US, so I'm offended when people try to cancel it. It's usually the most racist of people that push for it to be banned.

Which Confederate flag are you talking about, the Stars and Bar or the Battle?
It doesn’t matter because I like them all. They’re as American as can be. Sure better than commie and rainbow flags.

I'm not originally from the south, I have no love for it other than the absolute agony and angst it causes in people following their current programming.

We used to drive down I-40 in TN and see a huge battle flag flying, it always brought a smile to my face. A few years ago, we went down,  and I didn't see it. I hope I just missed it or it was being replaced.

Actually don't see many. About a year ago I was behind a pick up truck that had a giant one flying in the back. Looked over as I passed and it was a black dude in his 50s.

Grew up seeing it everywhere.  I don’t recall a protected class having an issue with it until the late 90s or so when it was almost like they were told to start complaining about it.  Of course, they have to get their way, so it’s mostly gone now.
