The original tooling was provided by HK in the 1970s, but who knows how long that lasted. If the operators were trained by HK, they would have retired long ago. As for HK specs, lol. Measure the bolt gap of an MKE. They’re all over the place. They are useful for practicing clearing jams on your Genuine HK. The people asking for a cheap MP5 are justified, as all the clones are trash. |

What is up with the barrel end? Does not look original, and I hate the PSA shiney barrels. Attached File Other gripe is the mag well inserts are not pinned. Would only buy this if it were less than $800 |

I have a couple 9mm ARs I routinely shoot and hit steel 9” targets out to 75 yards and it smacks them pretty hard. I don’t notice a lot of difference from a 6” barrel to a 16” from casual observation. That said, I love my 9mm AR rifles. They are very fun and very reliable. Attached File DPMS lower, Olympic Arms 16” barrel on a Colt upper I put together from parts with a Hahn block Colt mag adapter from Brownell’s I built years ago. |

Looks nice. If it isn't 90% clone correct it would be meh though. Their regular flat top 9mm that take Colt mags seem nice for those that aren't into the clone stuff and just want a 9mm AR. Can you put a PSA 9mm lower onto a CMMG 9mm upper? Those are suppose to shoot softer. I know they make 9mm Colt lowers as well, but PSA is probably cheaper for those. I was president of an NFA import company from the late 1990s through early 2000s and we had over 80 MKE MP5s out of bond from a big import buy from the late 1980s. We used one for a range gun and shot the piss out of it and a couple more - they ran great. I shot at least 5,000 rounds through one of them and no idea how many through other ones. We were also HK's largest dealer for NFA parts and we did HK repairs. Years later when I had my own import company, I had a POF MP5 - shot it a lot as well, never remember a jam. HK MP5s feel smoother when you rack the bolt and the finish was better than the MKE or POF guns, but as far as performance, I never saw any difference. |
