9mm PCCs are only going to become more popular. 9mm ammo is still significantly less expensive than .223/5.56. The controls can be the same. There are new forms of competition open for PCC. I expect to see a lot more people showing up to classes with 9mm guns as ammo continues to be retarded. |

We used one for a range gun and shot the piss out of it and a couple more - they ran great. I shot at least 5,000 rounds through one of them and no idea how many through other ones. We were also HK's largest dealer for NFA parts and we did HK repairs. Years later when I had my own import company, I had a POF MP5 - shot it a lot as well, never remember a jam. HK MP5s feel smoother when you rack the bolt and the finish was better than the MKE or POF guns, but as far as performance, I never saw any difference. @BerettaGuy Thanks for posting this. |

I'm not really expecting a lot of growth personally. 1) Mostly because in my experience, most 9mm guns are blowbacks with a recoil impulse no better than 5.56. Things like roller delay and RDB help, but as we see in this thread, there is little new growth in models with those more advanced action systems; rather most units seem to stick with using blowback which is just a massive bolt and let-it-slam,-enjoy-that-muzzle-jump, design philosophy. 2) The end of the pistol brace topic has now forced most people back to 16" profile. 16" is an unattractive size and inefficient dimension for the negligible performance increase that kind of length gives for a 9mm pistol round. 3) 9mm isn't exactly cheap anymore either. |

Overall they are OK but not my favorite PCC option (the MP5 is still the king IMO). A lot of people complain about the recoil (but I have no idea why?) so they do a bunch of stuff to "correct it" and then wonder why their gun doesn't run reliably? Setup to Colt spec and using Metalform SMG 9mm mags they will run like sewing machines but do tend to break bolt catches (especially cheap ones). They suppress just fine and I never had issues with them being overly gassy. If you are tactical timmy type then this probably won't be your jam but if you already have an SBR'ed AR lower and like the idea of a retro 9mm upper just for fun then I'd say get one, some metalform mags and a hahn bottom load magwell conversion block and then go have some fun. |
