What isn't clone correct? Barrel make Twist?? Trigger Lower markings Upper markings What else? Yea and even then the PRI parts will be dinged by the really autistic as not being the correct generation or not having the correct vent holes that are the correct diameter at the proper spacing or the charging handle isn't a welded latch from a certain address with the proper shade of purple that they insist you must paint over, etc etc etc. You can never make them happy, but they build all their stuff on civilian lowers w/o a third hole so even their stuff is (usually) wrong too. As for this one, I'll eventually get a Gasbuster CH and put it on an A1 lower w/ an Ergo or A1 grip and maybe, MAYBE, eventually source a proper scope in the correct rings, but it'll never be a true clone so I probably won't go that far. I'm not ADD/ADHD/Autistic so that shit doesn't bother me. It looks the part enough for me. |

I want to get one test side by side with my "not quite" clone correct setup. Then I can have a green and fde option without stripping paint or dropping a couple mortgage payments. Attached File |

I bought the upper but it will be a couple of weeks before I get to shoot it. I was collecting parts to build one anyway and pulled the trigger on one of these uppers on a whim.
Its going to go on a 20yr old RRA lower with the plain text roll mark. It was hosting my vintage A1 build before I bought a gray H&R lower for it so PSA got me twice. lol Anyone shoot one for groups yet? |

Quoted: Cameron here from PSA to answer some of the questions that are asked: - The barrel will be made in house out of 416R with 5R rifling that is then bead blasted. - The tube is from PRI as well as the Rear flip up and the gas block. - This will come with collar, flash hider, and thread protector from otter creek that is compatable with AEM5's. - We will have this upper available as well as complete rifle. We also have some more "Hybrid" type builds similar to what we do on the Sabre line now where we will have 14.5" Pin and weld options for other types of suppressor mounting capabilities. The 1.5moa in that video was shot with imi 77gr razorcore. My experience with that ammo is that it's hot and ok accuracy. My pri mk12 mod0 upper, with 69gr tmk@2915fps will hover around .7moa and occasionally shoot .5moa. Fgmm will shoot 3/4 -1moa. My rifle prefers 69gr smk/tmk, it will shoot 77smk at 2625fps but any faster and accuracy diminishes. 69tmk@2915 vs 77smk/tmk@2625, the 69 gr load stomps it.

Quoted: Alright, finally got it to the range for some initial zeroing. I had hoped to test several other loadings, but grabbed the wrong ammo can leaving the house. Luckily I had a single box of AAC 77gr. SMK, 10 rounds of AAC 77 gr. TMK, and 5 whole rounds of Nosler 73 gr at the bottom of my range bag so all was not lost. Conditions: 65-75* @ ~800' ASL, misting to start, then humid until it burned off and cleared up a little when the sun came out. By then I was shooting the M110. Function: Zero issues. I've changed out the charging handle with a PRI M84 Gasbuster and that seemed to help. I didn't seem to notice near as much gas the face. Highly recommend anyone getting one of these to do the same. Brass ejected at 4 o'clock and with oomph. It is getting the right amount of gas w/ the AEM5 on it (orange bucket is where the cases were landing): https://i.imgur.com/xHspHZR.jpg I haven't shot since anything for precision since March and it shows. The humidity fogging my glasses up didn't help. I was uncomfortable and not able to stay in a good position for most of the rounds so I really think this upper is capable of more (ok, excuses done). I'm going to try and get it to the range again this weekend to try again and have more ammo to work with. As it is, I consistently fucked groups up with the last round(s). I started with the 77gr. SMKs in the center. Bottom four, then threw the last round high. I then shot two 5 round groups in the top left. As you can see, I would drop the last round in each group. Berger 73s (bottom left) were putting a good group together until I yanked on the last shot and sent it way low. Still not used to the Sabre trigger. I plan to change it out for a Geissele in the future. TMKs are all over the fucking place. I shot them last and the mirage was horrible. I should've waited. As it is, I consider those wasted groups and not representative of the upper. https://i.imgur.com/qf2rtVB.jpg As it stands, I'm not calling this an MOA-capable upper, but I think with the right loading and shooter, it might be. It appears to hold roughly what 9 Hole Reviews found with their PRI upper (~1.5 moa) @ the 3:15 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQaNR2d7Pb4 Loadings I have to test: https://i.imgur.com/ODKbnUn.jpg Will update when I have more groups shot. I fully admit to being out of practice. I fought myself as much as anything else today. I was shooting off a bench today using an ammo can and small bag to support the front. Not exactly the most stable set up in the world. I might try prone off a pack next time I go, see if that helps. I do think the upper is capable of more/better with a better shooter. Trigger is whatever PSA puts in the Sabre lowers. It’s a decent trigger. I’m not going to blame it for the size of the groups. I want to get a SSA-E eventually but that’s down the road. |
