Can't see the gun real good, it's a Model 70 in 300 WBTHY Mag, one of the blondest chunks of wood I have seen on a Winny. Deer weighed about 220 dressed, a real good UP buck from the big woods.

There's some fine looking sticks in this thread
I've got a few I swap back and forth with when I deer hunt ( if that's what you want to call what I do ) These 3 are what Ive taken out so far this year.
1895 Marlin in 45-70 with an old T-Post 4x Universal scope

Stubby lil' Mohawk 600 in 308 with a Redfield 3-9

Shortened-threaded 700 SPS Varmint in 308 , but now with a Nikon 6-18 target .

We're a week into the rifle season here in Maine and I havent had a decent shot yet . This morning I had another doe in the crosshairs for a few seconds , but try as I might , I just couldnt wish horns onto that bitch

One of my dreams is to eventually own a house with a spacious garage that can be filled with the tools necessary to start learning how to build historically accurate flintlocks. That, and guitars. That is beautiful.

Another one for the "Books"

My son and daughter have been sitting in the deer stand with me sense they have been 3.

Both of them are 10 and get to hunt this year. So they had to step up there game from 22lr and 223/556 to 7.62x51/308.

100yrd qualifications..

She's a South paw like her old man

He was able to connect with his 1st deer, a 10 pointer. 1 shot @ 147 yards, dropping it in its tracks.

Now all I have to do is get sis on one...

Then myself...

BTW did I say we hunt a bucks only area... If we could pop does, the freezer would be full.

Here is where I bedded by savage 110 in .308. It's not the one with the accutrigger, doesn't need it, the trigger is perfect.

Here is the pillar part. It looks kind of bad, there isn't a lot of wood in that area to work with. Believe it or not though it's solid and works great. What you see is a little left over clay from the process. It's cleaned up a lttle.

I have extreme burris tactical rings. I had to add come nylon washers to keep the nuts from touching the mount. I emailed burris. They never responded. The washers fix the problem though.

I wish I had a pic of the whole thing, I have one of those rubber bulb deharmonzer thingies on it and the barrel is free floated. It shoots well.

I do have a pic of my 3030. Nothing special, one of the newer marlins everyone seems to complain about. I haul mine in the woods so it's going to loose it's pretty after one or 2 times in the woods. I use horndy lever-evolution ammo in it. It really makes it shoot nice and flat. I'm sold on that stuff.

Latest kill

It just has a bushnell banner scope and weaver rings. Works better than I expected.
