If the pro-gun crowd actually got together and everyone stopped fucking arguing over open-carry and we got some kind of global symbol that represented us to put on our vehicles I think it would really do a lot for us. Especially if you link it to being Patriotic or altruistic in some way.

When I take a trip to the range and may possibly have to stop on the way home, the possible loss of $15000 in equipment due to a 'steal me' sticker is definitely cowardly and stupid. Please forward me your brave and smart bank account information.. I will completely cover my truck with stickers and stop at the ghetto Applebees for snacks to prove you are right and that I have nothing to worry about. I will only charge my meal to your account, unless my guns go missing. You can be on the hook for that too.

I go against the ARFCOM grain on this one as I have the vision to see the importance of letting everyone know I am a Tier One high-speed low drag bad ass mofo with a GUN, a +12 inch package, supermodel wife and a six-figure income. Not easy getting all the necessary stickers precisely placed on a used Prius. Mom lets me park in the garage so jealously motivated keying is a nonissue.

My old Ford F-150 was broken into in broad daylight in front of a gun shop that happened to be across the street from a police station. What was taken? Nothing thank God because I leave nothing in it. What did my truck have on it?

NRA Sticker, GLOCK Sticker, and a S&W Sticker.

Yeah.... that shit does fucking happen and it happened to me.

Now on my current truck I just do a small PBA sticker and nothing more.

That can happen in any part of town. Gun stickers scream "there is likely to be something valuable in here". Only takes a sec to smash a window and hit the glove box center console etc. Low risk with high probability of finding something.

Even behind enemy lines, see plenty of stickers on cars/trucks every day. I was just spotted with a BFL on the convertible by a fellow ARFcommer. No one else has even asked what it is.

I had a guy one time ask me what the Gear logo(BFL) on my car meant. That is when I started suspecting his story about being a Marine was BS. Turned out it was.

I also used to have my NRA Life Member sticker on other truck like the poster up yonder but I decided to stop advertising lest some asshole keys my truck or something. I would go insane with rage if my K5 got vandalized. My other truck (Suburban) does have TSRA plates and a BFL. But it has 170k on it and is hardly cool enough to care if some sharp-eyed lefty noticed the plates and vandalized it.

I just roll with a BFL and a cryptic license plate on the K5 for that reason.

I wouldn't leave a gun in my car. I lived in a city for years and I subscribe to the "Don't Leave Anything In Your Car You'd Be Upset To Lose" school of thought.

That being said, I don't have a problem with people leaving guns in their cars. The average house isn't much more secure than a car.

If a gun is stolen, and a crime committed with it, that's on the thief, not the gun owner.

If I was going to steal a gun, I would check cars w/ stickers first. Just like houses with Gadsden or confederate flags flying. Higher chances of having guns.

I wanted to do some reverse thinking and put a Hilary Clinton sticker on my car to throw off thieves, but I am worried about some red neck republican damaging it. So no stickers either way on my car other than my license plate showing support for my school.

I know they do, but do folks that do leave their guns (if not "battle kit") in their unattended cars live in Mayberry?

Do they live some place where car theft, petty auto theft don't occur?

Growing up in a shithole drug infested town in central Florida taught me not leave anything you're not willing to loose in your car.

Four years of being stationed on Oahu taught me to not leave spare change in the car's cup holder. I was a victim of theft in base housing.

If you leave your gun in your unattended car, especially overnight as it sits in your driveway, I really don't have two shits to give.

When you post a thread about your car being broken into, stolen I'm going to say I told you so.
