I really hope her kids aren't as dumb as she is, but the certainly doesn't seem to be the case so far. View Quote To be fair, she’s far from being a “hood rat”. 1. She has a job 2. I've watched several of her panel discussions and she comes across as a pernicious attention whoring immature idiot. ........... which is kind of representative of her generation so I guess her supporters in her district got the "of the people" part right.

Quoted: https://news.yahoo.com/rep-lauren-boebert-says-she-182640302.html Rep. Lauren Boebert says she decided it was 'cheaper to have a kid' after seeing the price of one month of birth control: 'Now I have my third son' Rep. Boebert said she decided it was "cheaper to have a kid" after seeing the price of birth control. The Colorado GOP congresswoman had her first child when she was in high school. She said it "turned out to be a really great thing," noting that she's since had three children. Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado made an eyebrow-raising comment on Wednesday: that she first began having children after balking at the price of birth control at a local pharmacy. "My staff is probably gonna talk to me about this later," Boebert quipped as she began recounting the "fun little story" during a House Oversight Committee hearing on prescription drugs on Wednesday. Boebert asked witness Kevin Duane, the owner of a pharmacy in Jacksonville, Florida, if he'd seen patients leave their prescribed medicines at his pharmacy due to being unable to pay — before saying that she had done just that. "I left a prescription at a pharmacy once — I went to get birth control," said Boebert. "I was there at the counter, and went to pay for it, and the price was very, very high." Boebert said she initially thought the cost may have been for a three to six-month prescription, but was informed that it was just for one month. "And I said, 'it's cheaper to have a kid,'" Boebert recalled. "And I left it there, and now I have my third son, Kaydon Boebert." "It turned out to be a really great thing," Boebert added.[/i] Boebert, who recently filed for divorce from her husband of 20 years, dropped out of high school after becoming pregnant with her first child in 2004. The Colorado congresswoman later made the local news for delivering her third son, Kaydon, in a pick-up truck. According to Planned Parenthood, birth control pills can cost up to $50 per month, depending on health insurance coverage. Not that having a child by choice isn't a "Good Thing!" (I love my four wonderful children! - best parts of my life that ever happened! ) but perhaps her math skills may be a bit "off" if she seriously thinks the cost of raising a child for 18 years cost was LESS than a package of Trojans (even adjusted for Biden-Flation) ... Best wishes to her & her Children. She missed a great opportunity to name her 3rd "F-150" or "Silverado"... Bigger_Hammer View Quote There's nothing to applaud here really, makes her seem like she's really bad at math. ?? |

Odd that she gets so much bad press here, OTOH, my commie senator Bennett, only gets one thread about reintroducing the Ministry of Truth.
In a latest attack on liberty, Democrat Senators Michael Bennet and Peter Welch (D-Vt.) have reintroduced the Digital Platform Commission Act, a bill that aims to create a federal agency known as the Federal Digital Platform Commission. This Orwellian institution seeks to enforce so-called “behavioral codes” on social media platforms and artificial intelligence (AI), all while trampling the fundamental rights that we hold sacred in this country. Under the guise of combating misinformation, this so-called council, which includes self-proclaimed “disinformation” experts, will target and suppress our First Amendment rights. This thinly veiled attempt to control the narrative and stifle dissenting voices is yet the latest attempt to control everything we do and see — all in the name of their warped idea of truth. |

I don't think she intended to, since it's the opposite of a GOP talking point, but she made a good case for birth control being included in health insurance available to everyone.

At some point conservatives will realize that posters that attack every conservative have an agenda. One of the long-standing differences between the left and right, has been the right's insistence on a certain level of intellectual and moral consistency from our representatives. The idea of abandoning that, in order to ape the tactics of the left, is still not something I'm sure is the right choice. The right has traditionally valued education; she doesn't seem to have placed much importance on it. The right has also traditionally maintained that one of the ways to exercise birth-control is to stop fucking; apparently that wasn't an option. Listening to her speak, I'd say she was probably being sarcastic, but it was a lame joke if she was. If she was my representative, I'd feel she was not adequate for the job, but I'd vote for her anyway. My congressman is not terribly bright, and is a pure creation of the state Republican party, that I personally dislike...but I still vote for him. |
