When we calculated percentage of store sells during the week it changes on Saturday night.
Because that was when all the pharmacy cash sales got recorded from those sales to people without insurance. That $10 scrip you buy with insurance is the same one a person without insurance pays $50 for. Just as examples. Same scrips in Mexico $10. Same of doctor/hospital. That surgery the insurance company will only pay $1500 for, will cost the person without insurance $10k. BTDT. And it's not that they are actually paying the difference it's the negotiated pricing. Do away with insurance and let the free market set pricing. Maybe buy catastrophic insurance. Things would change dramatically. |
