LOL at everyone who is dismissing her so easily as I think she is the most likely to emerge from the pack.

Why not? She's got all the necessary qualifications they use for federal hiring now.

1. Black
2. Female

There will be at a minimum 10-15 contenders looking to run. They figure why not, a garden slug with halitosis and a bad attitude could beat Trump. Should be easy, they think.
Where they will go wrong is that they will A) continue thinking that flyover country is still peopled with ignorant gap-toothed rednecks, B) that Trump voters will be disheartened and will stay away from the polls, and C) despite the experience of the last election, they will still believe the cheerleaders of the MSM who will begin the victory party well before the polls close.
They will continue to beat the Democrat drum of identity politics, try and trot out the Mueller investigation, and recycle the same tired old "Russia Collusion" BS they've been touting for the last three years without any actual solid evidence linking any Russians to Trump. If it was there, don't ya think he'd have found it by now?

she's dangerous, because she's been a progressive, that already has extensive recognition in california

and california wants to be an early primary state, now, which would easily give her support that others would have to struggle, to gain enough support to win

Damn....I am surprised that anyone outside of IL has even heard of her.

Although I did just see that she was just elected head of the DCCC.

She may go through the primary, but the DNC will back Biden if he's game for it.  Harris and Cortez are still too fringe.

And Biden will beat Trump.
Biden would be 80 in his first term
I realize that.  Why wouldn't they saddle him with a VP that quasi-appeals to the millenial fringe?

My theory is this: Biden brings in the old dems, the moderates, fence-sitters.  A "fringish" VP attracts the younger generation-Harris is a possibility.  I could also see them using Ruben Gallego or Cheri Bustos.

She's a rural IL rep.  She was also just quoted as supporting improved border security via wall/fencing.

As an unknown, the Dems could pair her with Biden for a run at 2020.

The DNC won't support a hard left candidate for a presidential run.  They got surprised by Hillary's loss and they really didn't want Sanders.

They know they have to bring back moderate and independent voters to win while retaining the old/young vote.  A Biden/Bustos or Biden/Gallego ticket would do that.

They lost the electoral vote because the Dems didn't appeal to rural areas and fly-over country.

Harris would be a death sentence as would Occasio-Cortez.  I think they know that now.

I really see this as the most likely scenario. You'll have 20 candidates that are trying to out do each other on who's the biggest victim demographic that deserves the big seat. As fucking looney as Micheal Avenatti is, I don't think he was wrong that they just need a bare knuckle all out fighter as their best chance. A candidate whose whole reason for being is catering to the outrage victims groups? Not a recipe for winning against Trump.

Plus she would get black voters to turn out to vote for her, plus females.

I think she would be tough to beat.  She should not be underestimated.

It makes me wonder what Trump saw in her to support her and fund her... She is bad news and has always been bad news...

Good question. What do you think he saw in Clinton when he funded him?
