I saw a green chicken on the way to work one day. Does that count? I thought I my wife had put some shit in my coffee that morning til one of my coworkers started telling me about him seeing it.

A couple of these were posted earlier in this thread.

This one is at Frisco on the Outer Banks.

A little background on this - "Often called the Frisco UFO House   but referred to by owner Leroy Reynolds as "the spaceship"  the structure is officially a Futuro House, one of nearly 100 built in the late 1960s and early '70s. Constructed of fiberglass-reinforced polyester plastic, the 13-foot-tall by 26-foot-wide homes were designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen as structures that could be easily transported, assembled and used as vacation homes."

I can't find my picture of it, but on a shitty little state highway in North Dakota you can see two of the tallest man made structures in the Western Hemisphere. The KVLY-TV and KXJB-TV radio masts. They're both in the top 7 in the world, and numbers 2 and 3 in North America.

Warren, NH has a Redstone rocket on the town green.  They put it there to honor Alan Shepherd in 1971, although he was born in Derry, about 90 miles away.

Warren has a population of 900, and is literally on the way to nowhere.  It's bizarre the first time you drive through this tiny New England village and see a giant freaking rocket standing there.

Washington Island at Door County Wisconsin. A hand painted sign (made of plywood), next to the mailbox for “Lehman Camp”……reads “TRESPASSERS WILL BE VIOlATED”

I now have a similar sign in my garage.

What’s a trip to Michigans upper peninsula without a stop to see Paul
Bunyans chair and a life size statue of Babe the blue ox. Mackinac City if I recall. Or drive into town and wander through Treasure Island. You can buy all the T-shirts and rubber tomahawks you need.  Good times up there.
