Quoted: From what I understand, the F-15EX sales are a thing because of two reasons: A. The F-35 isn't a direct replacement of the F-15. The F-15's mission is different than the F-35's. and B. Even if you discount "A," the line for the F-35 can't keep up with the amount of planes it has to replace due to the older frames aging out, so it makes sense to buy some brand-new F-15s that are even more capable than the current older ones. View Quote This. Especially the aging airframe issue. |

Quoted: That didn't take long. Even better, they said the same thing about the Su-57. This thread is now about chinese hypersonics. View Quote Not really It was stated at the first reveal that the Felon wasn’t LO. The intakes with exposed engine blades was the first indication. The J20 has our intake technology. |

Quoted: Stealing technology is one thing, but applying it effectively is another. I know we can't underestimate China's capabilities but do you really think they got everything right with their first stealth fighter? View Quote They got it more “right” than the Russians. The fact that we broke out our 117s as red air for our pilots to chase around should be an indication of LO technology being used by our potential adversaries. |

It literally uses a jet engine designed by russiahttps://eurasiantimes.com/chinas-engine-problems-despite-new-tech-for-j-20-stealth-fighters/?amp Sorry I guess china tried to make their own but: "China has been working for years to develop a capable homegrown engine for its fighter jet. As previously reported by the EurAsian Times, China has replaced the Russian engines with domestically made WS-10 engines for its J-20 stealth fighters. However, numerous reports have claimed that these indigenous engines are still falling short and do not provide enough thrust compared to the Russian ones." |

I thought Russia coined the term "Quantity has a quality all its own."

Quoted: It literally uses a jet engine designed by russia View Quote Yep Has nothing to do with LO. Other than the smoke trail. LOL The J20 is designed for long range missions out over the water with little to no IFR capability. It is a fuel truck with missiles and LO. LO the got from samples off a downed helo and 117 along with the design elements from the 35 and 22. Our jets are great and can handle them through superior training and weapons but that doesn’t negate the fact that the J20 is a capable LO fighter, designed from the start to fight a war in the pacific. |

Quoted: Then both platforms are on a race to see who can't fly sorties and be called up... I really want the F-15EX to win the day lol. View Quote The 35 is in a much better position to have an impact, but the f15ex is interesting because it leverages existing technology and is much more mature overall. I always liked the idea of the program because it's still better than 90% of what's flying right now in other countries and could be used to fill out numbers in a war of attrition. |

I don't have the tism, but I did work on a project that allowed me to interact with F-35 pilots and learn about its integration into other systems. It's made me a believer in the jet and it brings significant capabilities to the fight. |

Esp from side and rear aspects. Indians were able to track them (though they could have been using reflectors to conceal its true capabilities). -Motors still aren't worked out but latest is that some of the newer ones are testing the WS15. They'd still likely be a big threat to ships, AWACs, Tankers, and 4th Gen...but i'd hate to be a Chinese Pilot flying unfriendly skies with 22s and 35s around. |

They aren’t USAF standard but they are capable of beating our 4gen aircraft such as the 15/16/18 which still make up the majority of our fighter fleet. |

View Quote I can hear that picture and I bet midcap loves the 35. |

that was ultimately one of the design goals of the 35.
Be able to pump them out cheaper than any f22 or upgraded f16 or f15 and near meet or beat the capabilities of the legacy crafts. I hope we pump out a fuckload more of them to offset the initial cost and actually realize that. |

Quoted: *slaps SU-57* this shit is a shell but iz ready to go. *Slaps F-35* This shit will work but it'll be expensive as shit and the supply chain for it is a mess View Quote I thought the 35 and depots all synced up to manage parts procurement and shit like that? I'm sure the US gov fucks it up from there but I doubt it gets much better. |

What was United States's Government Debt: % of GDP in Jun 2022? United States Government debt accounted for 126.7 % of the country's Nominal GDP in Jun 2022, compared with the ratio of 128.9 % in the previous quarter.
Russia Government debt accounted for 13.8 % of the country's Nominal GDP in Jun 2022, compared with the ratio of 15.5 % in the previous quarter. See the table below for more data. I guess they need a better credit card. |
