Its been my experience that majority white areas tend to be far, far less baised against blacks than areas that have both races living in close proximity and sharing schools, employers, local government, etc. I think the reason for this is that in a majority white area, minorities are on their best behavior because they know they are outnumbered. So the only minorities these white enclaves interact with are really polite and make an effort to get along. If that's your only exposure to minorities, you might conclude there are no significant cultural differences. If on the other hand, you grow up in an area where whites are less than 50% of the population, you will have had many more opportunities to interact with other races, and you might discover that when YOU are outnumbered, there is no incentive for them to walk on eggshells and be polite. You get to see their "honeymoon is over" behavior. They way they interact when they are comfortable and confident and feel safe. It is vastly different than the behavior whites see from the sub-10% minorities in their predominantly white areas. Vastly different. |

Your right in that racism is taught, they taught me to never be around them as it's dangerous to one's existence. There are tons of white guys that have similar experiences and I would say it's only gotten worse since then. I don't hate blacks as a whole, I would like them to get their shit toghther but I know that's asking for the impossible, So the best bet is to live in an area where there is hardly any of them. He just figured out what I have known for a while. All you can do in this day and time is to live as far away from large concentration of African Americans as you can if you want to live a safe, drama free life. All the years we were working we had to live where my employer sent me but not any more, once you retire you have choices. Racism is alive and well in our Country and it is mostly Black towards White. There are a lot of people who stoke this hate of white people and blame us for everything. It is not going to end well for any of us.
