Sears by me closed. They're building a movie theater in its place.

What a awful sad decline. It seems like they really did nothing to actually stop it and doubled down on the stupid stuff. I remember going as a kid and then over the years since, and noticing the decline before the last few years even.

This is what happens when a retailer with a large firearms department decides that they don't need to sell firearms anymore.

Never liked Sears especially the one in Pasadena Town Square Mall or Baybrook Mall. They had the attitude of we are the shit. They had the attitude that they were doing me a favor in selling the appliances, especially at Baybrook Mall. It's our way or the highway. Well I took the highway and went to every other motherfucking retailer out there. I do not see any appreciable service between the retailers selling their appliances so I just naturally seek the lowest bidder who could supply the appliances for my rental properties.
Fuck Sears. |

When you fail to change and innovate this is what happens to a company.

Evolve or die. Sears has been dying a slow death for over 20 years. I'm surprised it's taken this long.

I bought a replacement crisper drawer for a Sears fridge almost two years ago thru the website. Website crashed three times during the payment phase. Even though it took payment the third time, I got no email confirming the order. I had to place a phone call to complete the order. They would not ship to house, only to the local appliance center.
They said I would get an email in three days when the drawer arrived. On day five, after receiving no email, I called the 800 number (you couldn’t call the local appliance center) to see when it would arrive. Oh, it has been there for two days... Go to appliance center, which looks post-apocalyptic, wait in line 20 minutes, they cannot find it, tell me to leave because it must not be there. Me: “No. Keep looking.” After another 10 minutes, they find it. Sears deserves to die. |

I stopped shopping at Sears when they started importing all of their Craftsman tools from china. If I want chinese tools I'll go to harbor freight.

When I was a kid, there was no better sight than that of the Sears Christmas catalog in the mailbox. The stuff dreams were made of. But that was a long time ago. Sears could have been the original Amazon, but they fucked it up. It was a different time. Miss it but Sears did not evolve and these powerhouse companies all seem to have a life span then they anger in. Not sure what will replace Amazon but something will come along sooner or later. |

I can't help but think that with the right vision, and execution, Sears could be come the number one competitor to both Wal-Mart and Amazon, if they really tried. A higher class of products than Wal-Mart with the selection and ease of purchase of Amazon. View Quote |

Step one - Sell guns again.
Step two - Sell tools that don't suck. When harbor freight sells better quality tools at half the price your shit is fucked. |

I bet their board was a bunch of old men who can't program a universal remote control or troubleshoot basic computer problems.
Sorry that faggot Bezos kicked your ass. |

Sears, when you started to make your crapsmans in China, i was out, how stupid, even a drug addicted high school drop out wouldn't of sent crapsman to china https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/219796/coke_jpg-787543.JPG View Quote |

They grossly missed the web based market, and also stopped stocking large items like a washer, refrigerators, things that when they break you need them now not next week. The dug their own hole. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Went there a few years ago to buy a washer and dryer.
Was treated like a second class citizen Went to Lowes and was treated great. I had all Craftman tools and still do (They all say made in USA) Once they went to China I stopped buying them. I can get cheap China made tools cheaper at Lowes as well. I bought a drone from Bestbuy because they matched Amazon. Fuck Sears. If you can't run a company right you will run it wrong and into the ground. |

After the Craftsman tools went to China the place was dead to me. Build your reputation and loyalty on Made in USA then sellout and expect me to stay? Ha, no.

Quoted: Which is exactly why my local Sears Appliance franchise has and will continue to survive the failure of Sears corporate (apparently their franchise lets them continue on even if big Sears fails). They have a good selection of high quality appliances and lawn equipment at decent prices, available to load in your truck immediately. I've bought multiple fridges, freezers, dishwashers, etc... from them. View Quote Half were returns and clearly used. 1/3 of those looked like they were dropped off a cliff. They were barely discounted over a new one. . . Then the manager/employees could care less if people were there. |

Sears could have owned the internet retail business but they were too slow to adjust. While Amazon was on the rise they dicked around and are paying the price.

Quoted: I go to Best Buy more now. They will price match any online retailer, and I don't have to wait to get something. View Quote Previously, all of our appliances were Kenmore except for the dishwasher which is a Maytag. And we bought that from Sears strangely enough. Our refrigerator and stove are Kenmore. Same with our washer / dryer setup. Those are getting long in the tooth, so we'll be replacing them with other brands most likely from Best Buy. |

Bye Sears. You sucked. View Quote They closed my store. Media showed up and they told the media we would all get positions in other stores. Once the cameras were gone they said fuck you. Oh but we need you to help close the store down. I found another 2 bit job and let them deal with closing that store. This was back in 91 best I remember. |
