Iowa specifically is in the crosshairs. Storms are popping up in Nebraska at the moment and will be moving east. Strong (EF2 or larger) tornadoes are possible across Iowa, along with large hail and strong winds. The threat will reduce as the storms move out of Iowa, and high winds will be the main threat. Stay safe, keep your heads on a swivel.

We're near Ames, so keep us in your prayers.

Left work early today because of the chance for weather.

Also noticed the creeks and rivers were as full as I’ve ever seen, that’s going to be a problem for some areas today too.

Maintain your preparedness and keep your head on a swivel. Don’t forget about shoes for everybody in your fam, it’s important.

I heard Reed Timmer was chilling in Carroll, Iowa, an hour to my west. That doesn't bode well.

Very fast-moving storms today. They're gonna be going roughly 60-70 MPH or so.

I'm just north of Sioux City, looks like we're on the edge based on your pics. Hope you stay safe down there!

The rain this spring has been good, we needed it badly, but at this point we need it to stop for a while so everyone can finish planting. There hasn't been mich time in between rains for the ground to firm up very much. I talked to a guy this morning that has had his beans washed out twice now.

Pulled the camper inside yesterday because we’re supposed to have high winds and hail with possibility of tornadoes. I’m right on the edge of the nasty shit.

Just south of you in North DSM.   Ground saturation down here is about maxed.   We had a heck of a system move through this morning but I suspect as the day continues to heat we may be in for a real banger in a couple hours.   It will be an interesting afternoon.  Most metro, including our school system let out early, which is quite rare.

Im done with 'Nader season.  Dont really like how that red is centered around Des Moines/Pella area.  Tornado swept through there and tore up the Vermeer factory pretty good in 2018.  It took forever for things to calm down at dealers from that mess!

The DSM River is swollen up here, and flooded in some areas. We got over an inch of rain last night. I'd say the drought is finally over!

Ohio is full, stay out!

I've read there have been more than 40 tornadoes in Ohio already this year, 23 is the normal annual count.

Stay safe to whoever is in the path

As of 10am, my parents already had 5" of rain from overnight and this morning.

As always, it goes from drought conditions to wondering if it's going to flood in under a month....

Confirmed cone now on the ground near Villisca. You can see the hook on radar, this could be a big one. Also a new warning issued head of it.

Having trouble keeping up with this situation. Two tornadoes on the ground near each other in southwest Iowa, moving northeast. Big debris signatures with both tornadoes. Corning is in the crosshairs.

Some crazy footage being captured.

You camped through the 2020 derecho? I bet that was a crazy experience! We were passing through Kansas City on our way up from Arkansas when it happened. No damage at our place in Boone, but just south of us got hit hard.

Good luck to you.
