That’s fucking terrifying. |

Futurecast is showing me getting hit hard at 7pm. Hoping it doesn’t happen but as fast as it’s moving it will probably happen.
You IA guys can keep the naders. When we get them they usually go north of me by 5 miles and tear up the countryside. |

Rotation heading for West Des Moines. If you're anywhere in DSM, take cover.

ETA - radar says things will be very spicy here starting around 7:15. |

Looks like a debris signature on radar around Maxwell, IA.
Edit: Now upgraded to PDS, area of Nevada, Colo, Zearing. Get to ground ASAP. |

Just got a tornado warning for northeast of Owatonna Minnesota. It's a radar indicated, the storm watchers haven't seen any indication of a tornado. But they can't see very far due to the heavy rains. Hope it doesn't form into a tornado which touches down
EDIT: The tornado warning is over. We are under a watch for the next 4 hours. Wind gusts to 49MPH. |

VIDEO from Max Velocity of the tornado crossing IA HWY
This originated SW of us, passed about a 1/4 mile NW of our home, and continued to grow. Went PDS NW side of Ankeny, IA and caused damage to a Rest Area and more. Watch the first semi stop, a second tanker drive right into, and the original truck blown off the road. Cam went dark directly after. |

The storm seemed to seperate around us as it passed. |

We are under a tornado watch till midnight. Future radar indicates it should start popping off here around 8

If anyone local or thinking about heading to Greenfield, the deputies and police are blocking off roads and preventing people from coming into the town unless they are residents or have family in town.

While we had 50mph wind gusts and heavy rains, we are lucky. The worst appears to be some flooding and a few trees 2 feet in diameter snapped off, a few roads closed due to the trees. Some isolated power outages. Lightning apparently struck near a rural RR crossing. The automatic arms are going up and down. The RR company has been contacted. |

JSN high school took some damage. Blocked off from public and no school tomorrow. Officially EF1, with tons of tree damage. Praying for those in Greenfield, though. A friends niece and family lost their home but all okay.

INSANE TORNADO PIPE intercept with windmills toppled near Greenfield, Iowa! |
|
I’m in Red Oak. Got real lucky it was only on the ground for a minute or two, it was headed right into town. Pretty sure the one that hit Greenfield skirted my dads place near Hacklebarney campground, destroyed a few peoples campers then went through Carbon and up.

SE MN. Storms came through here. My weather station clocked the highest wind speed at 72 mph. Had some penny sized hail. Definitely going to be some localized flooding. Rain keeps pouring down. Looks like several trees are down. Still under a tornado watch but looks like that threat has passed. A tornado hit 15 miles north of here waiting on damage reports. Hopping this heavy rain stops soon.
Prayers going out to all the people affected especially down in Iowa. |
|
Man it has been relentless this spring. Best wishes to everyone in the path. Will be here in a hour or so.
Breaks my heart to see peoples home destroyed |

Stay safe, and how did OP beat TXhomserver to a weather thread?

I think the front has passed me. Tornado sirens went off, got windy, some driving sheets of rain, now apparently done with the bad stuff. But the lights keep blinking.
Prayers for those hit by the bad stuff. |

I was dodging the worst of it early this morning. Slept in Blair,NE. Torrential rain all night. Heard a tornado siren at one point. Woke up at 0415, checked the radar and got moving. I was heading up 29? and getting tornado warnings on my phone. That doesn't happen at home in VA. Had a derecho or something rip through while I was stopped in Sioux City.
