To me, the left completely lacks any respect for the victims and more importantly, any empathy for the surviving family members who have lost a loved one. Instead, the dead and wounded are exploited to the fullest potential and cynically used as a prop to promote the all-important public policy obsession they have with civilian disarmament.

Civilian disarmament at all costs.

These politicians are mentally ill and virtually amoral IMHO, and giving power to these sick fucks is going to be very bad for those not on board with their Utopian vision for the future.

1) The cops, investigators, etc are ALL in on it and not a single one comes forward to expose some cover-up, or
2) The facts are just as we're being told.

Occam's razor wins every time. The reason we don't know anything about the Las Vegas shooting is because there's nothing to know; the shooter really was an enigma that went nuts without any indication. Maybe the reason there's no information about this latest shooters is because releasing information would compromise the investigation. It is precisely because I trust most Americans to be decent and honest folks that I don't buy into conspiracy theory nonsense. There is no way to have potentially hundreds of people involved and ALL of them be corrupt and willing to suppress the "truth". Even if some of the people involved were to try to push an agenda, you couldn't silence all dissenters. Heck, the President of the US couldn't keep a soiled blue dress from making the news. It simply does not happen.

Actually quite frequently they are involved surveillance/investigation. There is an entire intel unit. They frequently help out in high crime areas and operations. There is a significant DPS presence in Dallas that consists of marked patrol units, air assets (fixed wing doing surveillance/intel in at least one of the high crime areas right next to where I work and rotary working several areas), and other capabilities as well.

4 or more people. That's a pretty low threshold. Another reason it doesn't hold water is because most of them - as far as I can tell - had some kind of motive that "makes sense". Robbery. Domestic violence. Drug deal gone wrong. I'm not excusing the level of violence, but we're talking about mass shooters in terms of a guy with no relation to the victims just blowing his top and going out in a blaze of glory. The other people on that list don't fit the bill. Call it a societal problem to ignore the others, but we tend to over-dramatize things we don't understand, like a guy driving from Dallas to El Paso and shooting a bunch of people in Wal Mart. That is inherently more scary than a gang-related shooting where 4 people are killed.
