Should PSA start making AK's for big boys in .308/7.62-54R/30-06/etc?
|
|
Yes. Then start churning out a punch of lacquered and sealed 7.62x54r. In addition to lacquered and sealed 7.62x39, 5.45x39, .223., 308.
|
|
Let them finish up on the projects they have already started before committing to new ones.

Weren’t they saying they were going to a few years back? I swear them or K-USA or someone said it was in the pipeline. I really want one but not for the price, if they could run it for the right price they’d sell like hot cakes.

I want a PSA semi auto 50 bmg. Surely they can do this, right?
We the people need moar 50 cal. |

No. Doubt they would sell many. 7.62X54 isn't that common any longer now that spam cans have gone through the roof.
I have a PSL and 7.62X54 VEPR and while I really like them, neither are really all that accurate. Their attraction comes from being rare more than anything. |

View Quote Why would they want to produce lacquer-sealed steel-cased ammo when they're already producing good brass-cased 5.56 ammo? Affordable boxer-primed brass-cased ammo would be a much better option, especially for reloaders. Are there any US manufacturers producing steel-cased ammo, or is it all sourced overseas? The only two I can think of are Hornady steel-cased Match and Winchester USA Forged. |

I’d rather see them make a belt fed pkm that uses a Ak like trigger fire control set up so you could use a binary, that would be worth something to me.

How about a bolt action receiver that uses a R700 footprint and remage style barrels. A savage floating bolt head would be a bonus. Must take aics mags
Yes I own a Bighorn Origin. I am talking like $400-$500 for budget type builds. If not a Q Fix/ Sig Cross that takes AR barrels or remage plus r700 triggers and AR stocks/grips My reasoning is for cheap Pork Sword builds etc. I bet they would sell a hell of a lot more than they did with the 1911. Come on PSA |

I believe this discussion was on another forum, and that PSA wasn’t going to produce one. Unlike AK variants and such, the Dragunov is a clean sheet design and it doesn’t share parts with anything else. It’s also a machined reciever. It would require its own jigs and quality control fixtures that couldn’t be shared with other firearms. It’s a one off design. In my opinion, there’s not enough demand to support the high price to manufacture a Dragunov. If it were to be produced, I would expect to see a 2k+ price tag with a quality FN forged barrel and machined reciever and parts. PSA’s business strategy relies on economies of scale, not high price tag low volume products. I would not expect one from PSA, but a import. Zastava has an offering that is somewhat close, but it’s 3.5k. That should give you a clue for price, and the Zastava relies on foreign labor prices, and it already had the tooling for them…they didn’t start from scratch like PSA would.

PSA can start on all the niche stuff after they get the DPMS GII rolling.

I've never been so happy to be so wrong. From that thread: Quoted: Quoted: I take it there’s a plan for 5.45 ammo then? I don’t even shoot mine right now, hoping we can see 5.45 production soon Correct, steel cased 5.45/7.62x39/54R ETA- we will bring the Krink out first in 5.45, however 7.62x39, 300BO and 5.56 versions will be released shortly afterwards Quoted: Quoted: What’s the ETA on 5.45 ammo production? Thank you by the way! 7.62x39 is first, we are trying for June/July. Once the 7.62x39 is in production we will go to 5.45 next. I don’t have an exact timeline but it will be shortly after 7.62x39. As I've said before, PSA is almost single-handedly redefining the phrase "In common usage", and it's absolutely beautiful to see! Rock on, PSA! Rock on! |

View Quote Palmetto State Armory is the best armory. Freedom Over Profit. Since its inception, Palmetto State Armory has focused on providing the best quality AR-15 parts and accessories for the best price possible. Following year after year of exponential growth, Palmetto State Armory’s core principle remains the same, and our commitment to freedom before profit remains unwavering. The idea is simple: Sell as many guns to as many law-abiding Americans as possible. Putting guns into "common use" is an important legal defense established by the Supreme Court that safeguards the rights of the people against tyranny by prohibiting restrictions on firearms found to be "in common use". Putting any gun into "common use" protects against any attempt by the government to further infringe on the Second Amendment right of all Americans. Our mission is to maximize freedom, not our profits. We want to sell as many AR-15 and AK-47 rifles as we can and put them into common use in America today. Our focus isn't to make massive amounts of money but to spread freedom as far and wide as possible. Our legacy will not be about money; we want our legacy to be about maximizing American Freedom. And we work every day to do just that. We make high-quality firearms at affordable prices for everyone! Then we back them with a Full Lifetime Warranty. 100% Lifetime Warranty. Palmetto State Armory firearms are covered by an industry leading 100% Lifetime Warranty. This extends beyond the original purchaser. We want the person who bought a great quality firearm at an excellent price to have comfort in knowing that no matter what, the firearm can be fixed at no additional cost. This includes shipping both ways. We strive for excellence all the way through production and hope customers never have to use this warranty but we also pride ourselves in 99% non-repair/return ratio. It is there for peace of mind so that the consumer can be confident in their purchase. Would be cool if they did, but I think making sure the ammo is being made and available should be done first
