Honestly, both the PSL and the Drag can both be "accruate-ish" guns.
For example, I have a PSL that with handloads runs in the 1-1.5 MOA range for me, the main issue is finding decent match grade bullets for a .311 chamber that won't beat the shit out of the action. I have also spent a good amount of time on the drag as platform, and with combloc sniper ammo they similarly are 1-1.5 MOA for the most part. The actual acceptance spec was 2 MOA or less for IIRC a 10 round group. And I have shot private drags in pristine shape that delivered in the 1-1.5 range, and 308's that were closers to 1 MOA. I think TxZen here has one that accurate or better. The biggest downsides to accuacy with these platforms are: #1. The shooter, coloquially known as bubba. #2. Worn out trash/shit rebuild PSLs using worn out parts, esp barrels (the first PSL I recieved, the chamber would literally bubble/blister the brass from the rust damage) The second one I got was basically a new gun, and shoots perfectly well. #3. Shooters not understanding how to actually use the sov-bloc optics, or again, some of the optics are actually broken. So, in terms of new production, yeah I'd totally buy a new 308 drag. As long as there wasn't the fuckery that went on with MAC deal, fuck that guy. That being said, I don't think price wise they could do it, several outfits have tried to over the years and failed miserably. |

Quoted: Draganov clone under $1200 yes please! View Quote HA - Fucking Romanian PSL's (not even close to a Drag) are 2-4 THOUSAND on Broker, Parts kits are over a grand. Only real Drag I've seen in a few years up now for $34,0000 - Realistically if a company could produce SVD's for around $5K I think they would not be able to keep up |

Outside chance of a drag at 5k, yeah maybe. |

Quoted: yes. and hot take: 2moa is good enough. View Quote It's fine within the ranges it was expected to be used. Like as a DMR you arent taking 1000m shots with it. 400-800 was the expected use range and it's fine within that range. Also, alot of people are surprised by how light they are. |

I’d rather see them start actually making retro upper receivers now that they own NDS

Quoted: Quoted: There are two dudes who have rebarreled .308 SVDs to 6.5C that I know of. I still kick myself for not buying the .308 NDM-86 with 6 mags for 4K back in 2012… Or for 1.6k in 2000 I was 17-18yo in the year 2000 and didn’t know what I didn’t know |

Quoted: yes but they REALLY need to make a Daewoo K2 View Quote I'll second this motion! I first saw the K2 back before I really got into ARs, and had no idea what I was looking at at the time. I also remember checking out their 9mm pistol, which vaguely reminded me of a S&W 908. Sadly I let my perception of their vehicles influence my perception of their firearms. I think I've only seen one other K2 since then. |

How about bringing a modernized, light, small framed, inexpensive, accurate, .308 AR10 to the market instead?
If only they had designs for one they could lighten up a bit.... |

View Quote They are hard to catch in stock but PSA is selling them as fast as they can make them. Put another flawless hundred rounds or so through mine today. Got the sights dialed in to where I was getting groups the size of a .50 cent piece at 50 meters. Easily outshoots my Norincos and Saigas. Also found a Chinese canvas sling for it. Darned if this isn't the most photogenic ak I've ever owned. Absolutely beautiful gun. My initial impressions here. |

If PSA started making Dragunovs they would not be able to keep them on the shelves. It would be an awesome rifle. If they do make them I prefer they come in .308.

Not really of interest to me but I am sure they could sell a saiga or Vepr .308 clone if the price was reasonably close to their intermediate AKs
|
|
It seems to me that they actually floated the idea of doing an SVD clone a while back. I’d love to see that.

Never received an email from PSA they were available, disappointing since I have two different email set up for notification for almost a year now. PSA Ak47 Spiker Shows out of stock, guess I’ll resign up for notification. |

Everyone who creates a "PSA should make..." thread needs to go work for PSA, or shut the hell up.

SVD in .308 as well as the native 54r would be nice.
Dragunov is a great rifle. Way ahead of its time. |
|
I'd rather see them make a ukm-2000 that used a ar fcg and would work with a lightening link or forced reset style trigger....
@ben had a thread on something like that beginning of the year... |

View Quote That project is ongoing and actively progressing with a different company. Unfortunately everytime I've tried to work with PSA it has come to a dead end, so I've just started dumping hundreds of thousands into property, a shop, tooling, etc...I have out of pocket covered several projects myself that I'd hoped to pay PSA to do. It is what it is, cost of doing business. I get it, I'm small fish and they are about volume. I don't blame them - I'm a huge supporter of capitalism and I wish them continued success. |

Do we really need another product that doesn’t work and even if it did is never in stock?

PSA has become a consolidation of all the ads in the back of Shotgun News back in the day.
That’s a very good and welcome thing. PSL’s for all! |
|
I suppose so but I doubt the market could support them. PSL might be easier but is more underwhelming.
The problem with PSA is that they don't do straight clones. They all seem to be a bit different like their "AK-103s". If they modernize or Americanize it I don't get the appeal. If you are going for practicality and want 7.62x51 or whatever caliber is cool now, just get an "AR-10". They will be far more practical than any SVD. |
