Are some of you dolts really analyzing what some kid tinkering with electronics did? You're not impressed by something a 14 year old did? Did better in college?

Lol.
View Quote

Some of us did better than he did with electronic objects at 14, they just didn't brag about it. He took an old clock out of its case, and sloppily put it into a pencil case in such a manner that it would be non-functional, and downright dangerous to use.

I did that shit at 14 too.

Well, I didn't take a clock out of its case, and put it in a different one in such a way that it could be confused as a bomb, I just took two broken sony Discmen and turned them into one working one. More effort involved, with better results, too.

The kid is a troll, and so is his dad.

It is obviously not a bomb, it's a portablized clock/radio.

The current year is 2015.  The inability to discern a gutted clock radio from a bomb speaks more to the technical ignorance of the adults involved than the wrongly imputed malice of the kid. There were a lot of adults who fucked up, in series to create this tempest.  They are morons.

Oh come on, you're being just a little bit unreasonable. I have a minor in EE and a major in ME. I've made plenty of analog and digital circuits. I worked in a manufacturing facilitiy that made custom circuit boards. It looked suspiciously like a bomb (but without explosive material) to me. The pics weren't that good and I didn't stop to analyze all the components. All the loose wires and haphazard placement of everything probably obfuscated to me what exactly he had going on there. It was a huge trolling attempt on their part, orchestrated by his parents.

Which HAD TO BE SEEN since the digital display was on the inside and unable to be seen with the case shut.

If he wanted to "make a clock" my thinking would be to cut a fucking hole in the case so you didn't have wires falling out every time you wanted to check the time.

Good one! LOL.  "portablized".  Because when I was in junior high making my own circuit boards, logic circuits, amplifiers, etc, the one thing I really wanted to do was bring my freaking alarm clock to school.  You know, because I just loved the sound of it waking me up so much I wanted to share the love with my classmates.  That, and be able to tell time as long as I had an available 120v receptacle nearby, I can't think of a better way to tell time. I just could never figure out how to get the clock out of my room, but now I know that "portablizing" it would have solved everything.

There is a lot of speculation that the boy did not make the clock it was made by someone else intentionally to look like a briefcase bomb because his family knew he being of middle eastern descent, and bringing it to school it would cause a panic, knew he would get arrested etc.... just so they could sue everyone and their mama for a whole lot of money.

Some have even gone so far as to say bringing what amounts to a fake briefcase bomb to school is an act of terrorism.

I know, all of ARFcom is supposed to hate Bill Maher.  But listen very carefully to Mark Cuban starting at about 00:52 about how he personally talked to the kid on the phone.  He chatted normally about regular topics, untill Mark brought up the clock.  Then the kid's sister started listening and telling him what to say.  There is no doubt that this kid's family is driving this story.

And be sure to watch the whole clip to see that Maher thinks the reason this Muslim kid was hassled with an IED-looking device is precisely because "for the past 30 years it's been one culture that's been blowing shit up."

I suggest that just because something is remotely possible doesn't mean it's likely to have happened or that it should be given serious consideration.  Which is what you were trying to do.

Very interesting point.

6. Why is the Mohamed family blocking the release of important records?
Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne revealed this week that the Mohamed family is refusing to release records that could exonerate the police officers who handled Ahmed’s arrest. Both the Irving School District and the Irving Police Department have asked for the records to be released, but to no avail. Why would the Mohamed family feel it necessary to prevent such records from being released to the public?

All of these questions may have perfectly reasonable and unsurprising answers. But before we can get the answers, the media must ask the questions. Before this incident goes any further, members of the press should be asking the Mohamed family to clear up these uncertain and confusing gaps in the story.

I want to play.  Yucca root, and the other is most assuredly Tutankhamen's mummified dick.
Close.... except one surely isn't Tutankhamen's mimmified cock... I know, I know. You want it for yor personal collection of adult toys. But alas this is not it and you can't buy it from her.

I want to change my answer, cassava and Tutankhamen's dick then!

Please send me the dick as the winning prize.  Keep the yucca.

Sooooo the plot thickens. Guess who was suspended for three days for saying they were going to blow the school up.

His sister

So let me see if I have the basiscs here.

Father is an Islamic activist with a business named twin towers
Boy didn't invent anything, doesn't know dick about electronics
Took the innards out of  an already working clock which isn't making anything
Puts it in a case to show the teacher yet somehow it isn't seen in class
Acts suspicious when police arrive
Police already know threats from sister

Lib tards go fucking mental, tweets of support from everyone

The one thing Muslims are good at is playing the victim it's part of Middle easter culture and it works because stupid fucking mental libtards take it all in.

Clearly a public school and the White House have the same security concerns and need the same security procedures.  Better start feeling up every one who go into a school.

What do we think would happen if he tried to do either of the following?

1. Bring that onto an airliner, especially if he tried to carry it on.

2. Bring it into or near the White House or the Capitol building while on a tour.

But the feels.
