In ~~10 years you will get sick of "moderately close".  And start leaving at your pre-published departure time.
And it will be wonderful.

The best part is that she can't complain.

My wife used to play that game, I took to just going straight outside or to the car and waiting there, so she couldn't concoct any excuses about waiting for me as I fucked around online or what not while waiting. She quit playing that game.

She's actually gotten pretty good at the punctuality thing - last event we went to we were right on time.

My wife tried that a few times early on.

I started by clearly establishing what time we'd agree to leave. We'd decide together that we were heading out the door at XYZ time.

Then I took to standing at the front door.

Somewhere around the 3rd month of marriage I told her I was leaving and if she wanted to ride with me she better head out the door behind me. Otherwise, I'd meet her at the venue.

That mostly fixed the problem until one day she decided she'd test me. As I drove down the street I called her on the cellphone to explain that I'd left and would see her later when we met at our destination.

For the most part for the balance of our 14 years together she's been moderately close to our mutually agreed upon time of departure.

No, I mean that she understands that if we agree on a departure time that is when we are walking out the door. For the most part she has been good about being ready to roll at the right time with the occasional issue or understandable delay. That's what I meant by " moderately close".

Women......25% are taking prescribed psychotropic medication.

Shocking......

That means 75% of all women are walking around untreated!

May I quote you?

Hillary will as another example of the war on women.   Of course any normal person knows that the war on women is just one way that the libs divide people for their political gain.

That's cool. If she really tried, it's good.

Did you intend this to be in anyway responsive to my post?

Presumably, your wife is a grown woman.  Why would you be responsible for her personal grooming?

The average person - male or female - will do what their mate allows them to get away with.  Apparently, some real candyasses in this world.

If I don't want my wife to make me late I need to learn to do hair and makeup?  Interesting.

Sorry, PlaneJane is right.

Me and the wife will decide to go out somewhere. Or need to be somewhere at a certain time. Everything's going good time wise. Ready to head out the door, but wait, she needs to clean off the stove top, wipe down the counter tops, put the cover on the grill, put the sprinkler timer to turn on at a certain time for her garden, go back upstairs and change because she will have invariably gotten dirty outside.
Then maybe she's ready to go. Maybe.

There is no such thing as a 7 minute shower to a female. That is where your problem lies.

Yes, there is. Baths, on the other hand, last hours for me (I read and have a beverage at hand). :-)

My wife spent 15 minutes deciding on earrings to go see the new captain America movie last night.
She took them off after 2 minutes in the car because "they were heavy and hurt".
I can't count how many times me putting my shoes on or gun on have made us late.

Weird

My wife says sorry I'm making us late as she rushes buy getting ready.  She kisses me with a sheepish grin too.

I just swat her on the butt and say hurry up baby.

No arguing, just me waiting patiently on my woman.

Married 8 years. I don't start getting ready until she has her clothes on. I still sit around waiting for her.

We started to take separate cars and I took the kids after numerous times being two hours late to Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday parties, etc.

I'll translate for you Bama:

She thought she was ready to leave, then you got in the shower.  About four minutes into your shower, she noticed thirty-three other things that just had to be done before the two of you left.

If you hadn't taken seven minute shower, you would have been able to leave on time.

Thus, it's your fault.

And Im supposed to start shit so I can make up 15 minutes??? Riiiiiight.

Tomorrow is our 29th wedding anniversary. I long ago learned the game.

I dint get upset I make a point to be ready and waiting. Small victory's and all...

These threads are amusing because I see pieces of patterns in all of us. I don't see them as battle grounds.

As you were.

I have yet to meet a woman, besides my mom and her mom, with anything beyond poor planning and time management skills. I know they are out there but I haven't met them.

In the time it takes my wife to shower and throw on makeup and clothes I can shower, get dressed, eat, brush my teeth, feed our dogs, let the dogs out, put the dogs up, start the car, and take a 10 minute nap.

Stay away from my wife, you dirty bastard!

All kidding aside, outside of her family events I schedule and plan nearly everything but her day to day activities with the kids while I'm at work.  She has always been late for everything except formation, so about six months ago I had a nice long chat with our PCP about her tardiness.

After very little deliberation we determined that I would tell her that her appointments are an hour earlier than they actually are.  His secretaries are in on it and now every time she calls in saying she's going to be late and give her the same old spiel about squeezing her in without the inconvienece of her actually being late.

I've since applied this very effective strategy in other aspects of our life with some success.  Good luck and Godspeed, Bama - pun intended.
