When I was younger I was pretty anti gay.
Not to the level of "lets go beat up some faggots", but I was not fond of them or their lifestyle. As I got older I came to two realizations. 1. I don't understand homsexuality. I can't, I am not gay, it makes no sense in straight people mind. I am not wired to comprehend it. If what compels them to be gay is as strong as what compels me to sleep with women then, yeah, you ain't turnin that off. 2. I really don't give a shit who someone sleeps with or what their kink/fetish/lifestyle is (given consenting adults). Why? Because who someone sleeps with (except my girlfriend) has zero impact on my life. I have had gay friends, I have two gay family members (by marriage), I have gay clients. Hell, I slept with a lesbian once. 
Overall, they are like everybody else. Some are good people, others are raging assholes. They just like a different kind of porn then I do. Except the lesbians, but I digress. The only issues I have with the gay community are their in your face, special snowflake members. Not all of them are like that but the ones who are irritate the fuck out of me. And the marriage issue. I have no problem with a same sex couple having all the rights (legally speaking) as any other couple. I dislike the more militant members of their community that want to use the power of the state to force religious institutions to participate in things that go against the doctrines of their faith. Beyond that, whatever, it is a contract. And that 90% of them are flaming moonbat leftists, mostly because a lot of them think that conservatives all think and act exactly like the OP. |
