Depends on what your history is, and what she can't trust you with. If she can't trust you to not cheat on her and you've been caught fucking the office secretary, guess who's fault that is? If you haven't given her any reason not to trust you like that, I'd tell her that she needs to communicate why she can't and if it can be fixed. If it can't it's time to pull the handle.

A few years ago I spent the day putting new brakes on the cars,
When done the current wife asked me if we should have someone check that I did the job correctly. I said what the FRIK, I have been doing your brakes for the last 40 years and now you don't trust that I know what I'm doing! Think she had a momentary bought of dementia with that statement. A few years later I did a complete brake job just before she was going to take the car on an out of state trip. New pads, rotors and brake fluid. Left her a text "did the brakes last night on your car. Lots of luck through the mountains.". |

In all the important things to our relationship my wife trusts me.
There are things my wife shouldn't trust me with. I have biases, weakness and faults so I'll admit I cannot be perfectly trustworthy in all things. Forgiveness and understanding exist for those instances where I'm not perfect. |
