What's the over/under on the # of idiots living/playing in the SoCal concrete "rivers" who get washed out to sea?

How high will the surf storm surge be?

Hopefully most of the rain holds off until after 10AM on Sunday when I start driving back from the area. Drive sucks enough without rain, throw some wet roads into the mix and the tards just don’t know what to do.

Usually tropical cyclones have become post- or extra-tropical by the time they get here.  It happens every few years.  We get a bunch of rain and lightning, mostly in the mountains and deserts.

I could swear we got hit by a cyclone in the late 1990s. A big deal was made about the coming storm and it certainly was one of the two most intense storms, if not the most intense, I have experienced in SoCal; certainly it was the worst as far as sustained winds went. Some pretty heavy stuff was getting blown around; I remember that.

It'll be blown out and waaay hairy if it does hit right.

Anyhow, as someone in the middle of the desert up on a hill, I welcome all the rain. The Strip might get completely flooded though.

The cold current will kill it as it gets closer, so a storm is all it will be. The last Cat 1 was almost 150 years ago and hit SD.

There have been plenty of others to hit CA, but that doesn't make the exciting news nor would it make this storm seem newsworthy.

I'm sure the computer models haven't considered that at all. No way. Maybe you should call them up and let everyone know?

There certainly are some idiots camped out in concrete-lined creeks.  I used to report them on the "Get It Done" app, but it's futile.  They keep coming back.  I say f*** them, and don't care if they and all of their crap get washed into the bay or the ocean.

Surf should be biggest on south facing beaches in Orange County.  San Diego should get a strong south swell but short period and not easily surfable.

A little bit hopefully. The snowpack helped this year and it rose by a good amount, but it's going to take years of this kind to fill it back near capacity.

Ventusky weather app has it petering out while crossing Baja CA, then tracking towards El Centro & Las Vegas.  Landfall typically kills these reliably and this one is no different.  LA won't even be windy from this.  Media projecting with "We'll be right back after a word from our sponsors".

Trump's fault.

Jerome’s says come on down. By the way Jerome’s doesn’t haul away your old shit anymore. What a joke. They kinda suck.

I’m gonna be so pissed if we don’t get a good storm out of this. Summer weather is so fucking boring here. After all these years I still miss Spokane weather.

Pretty much.  The big problem here is erosion.  There's a few roads here in bad shape and whatever fix they've got going for the road over to Playas is probably going to be washed away.
