Yeah boy! Looking forward to the build. Give this one an absurd paint job when you're done.... for the lulz! https://static1.squarespace.com/static/56c659bdf2b77e3a78d32554/5983cf51bebafb6888f4412a/59966168bf629ae6aaa2e054/1503035838434/?format=500w |

View Quote Im however no where that good. So Ill take the flat pictured above, bend and weld it into a receiver. Then Ill reuse the parts from the front half of the kit, mainly the barrel, trunion, cocking tube and front sight assembly and assemble those into my receiver I made. With some patience, blood loss(atleast my last one) and some harsh words, it should turn into a nice little MP5 |

So what kind of money are we saving in this type of scenario?

So what kind of money are we saving in this type of scenario? View Quote Im 1500 in, for all german parts. Well minus the receiver and brace. Is it the bottom dollar MP5 you can buy right away? Nope not at all. However I must admit I dont think I have ever saved much if at all building guns. Certainly not if I include my time for the build process. Regardless saving money isn't really the point. Its the adventure inbetween the builds that I like more than completing the gun. I get to learn a lot along the way with help of this forum. Theres a certain level of satisfaction I get from being able to say, I built that, even if they dont look like a pro job |

I wish I were good enough to attempt doing that. Its honestly crossed my mind View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I'm in the process of bringing one back to life as well. The receiver sections I have were demilled in a way that I will be able to keep all the hk roll marks with the exception of the date code. That may be able to be saved though. Its honestly crossed my mind |

Quoted: That would require some seriously advanced welding skills. I would be very interested to see a reliable gun that had been built that way. View Quote Really awesome job too, couldn't even tell that it had been rewelded Theres a guy in this thread that said hes going to try and do the same to keep the HK markings |

Quoted: I have a HKparts bending tool thingy Honestly when I drilled and pinned the barrel on the 53 that was one of the easiest steps. Im not sure what the dude hooked me up with at Fastenal. But he must have gave me a great bit and the best cutting paste there is on the planet. It ate right through the trunion and barrel like butter. It was some green pasty stuff. Shit was awesome Getting the flat into a receiver right.... That was the biggest pain in the ass. Im hoping this LSC flat makes things much easier than the SW flat I used for the 53 View Quote
Fastenal stocked that in our shops vending machines. Stuff works pretty good. |

View Quote The bending jig looks awesome too. Way easier than AK flats. Is the jig crazy expensive? |

So I always make videos and shit of my builds. They've always been made for Instagram and are 1 minute short. My Instagram no longer gets any traffic. Would you guys rather see a more in depth video? Or would I be wasting my time putting together a long drawn out build video Ill add in im not a gunsmith and I may or may not be building one the 100% correct way View Quote |

OST. Looking forward to this one, after following the 53 build.
