saving some money for an mp5k clone, would you recommend building one out of parts or should i just buy a clone? How hard is it if you've never done any welding or bending and considering im pretty good with dyi stuff View Quote You have to build several for it to be economically viable. The benefit really is you're building guns with all German parts for the price of a clone with American parts. |

Hey Chase, I was just poking around the EE and there's a cocking tube for $25:

But I could do the same with the one I have right now. Im trying to salvage the inner sleeve to make it easier to weld ETA, that one is also a rifle cocking tube |

Hey Chase, not sure if you knew, but Knights is remaking the mp5 ras now. If you were looking for something cool to add on the the already cool project.

I also got the mag catch in last night.
I did forget to order the special bushing and pin for the paddle mag, so Ill get that coming. But that's a easy mod The mag lip on the left side seems to be rubbing on the bolt a little bit. Not much. But it does drag. Not sure what to make of that just yet. It may not even be a issue. Im not sure if going back in and widening the slot a bit may alleviate that. As is the mag locks in tight. |

Its killing me that Im stuck at work and I cant bang this thing out

I did epoxy the sight base and the rail weldment on. So Ill tack those guys after work real quick and finish modifying the lower trigger group and it should be done.
Well until I can get the paddle install done |
|
Franklin Armory has a binary trigger for HK's now. Just saying.
And they run awesome!! |

After getting one for my Zenith, I better lay low. The wife is giving me the stink eye lately. She knows something fishy is going on, but hasn't seen a new gun in a bit.

OP is one of my heroes for doing this. I have wanted to do one of these since I read that Small Arms Review article that showed how to do this. Have some friends who are interested too, so maybe we can split the cost of tooling when its fo time.

It feels really nice cycling the bolt though. Way better than my K. I can't wait to see how smooth this thing is

Are there prints for the folding jig?
It looks simple enough for me to build one at work. |

You basically just press it into the jig until the ends touch or about touch That said, this one went smooth. The last one I about gave up trying to get it to work. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Considering I have a permanent reminder of my 53 build every time I look down at my hand, I really love that thing. I really need to finish cleaning up the welds on that thing |
