So I think we all know SOLGW has carved out their piece of the market and they definitely have a following. Recently I came across a poll on social media asking about the “best” AR15 rifle, and wouldn’t you know it, SOLGW is in the running to be a finalist, currently head to head with KAC. Granted, this is nothing more than a popularity poll (no operational testing what so ever), but bare with me here. One thing is obvious: people LOVE this company. I would also like to say that I own not a single SOLGW firearm or item.
So then I got to thinking. For a company that manufactures nothing and outsources all of their parts, they have it together. They advertise high end, tight specs on every piece of the gun. This allows them to charge a premium without investing big into what it takes to make these parts in house. This allows them to warranty these parts basically forever and against anything. The owner hands out customer service left and right. Call him if you have an issue. He gives you a replacement gun if you use yours to defend yourself and it gets taken as evidence. List goes on. Obviously what they are doing is working. Their stuff stays out of stock everywhere and brings premium money when it is in stock. I think from a business perspective we could all learn a lot from SOLGW. |

They have the best pre-packaged LPK on the market as far as I am concerned. Parts from L.W. Schneider or Schmid and KNS. Not sure who makes the springs.
The business perspective as an end user typically works well. Mike and them are all shooters and support your rights to the end. Pair that with a quality product and open sight to the sources and you have a winner.

If they are making money (Or hey... run it at Zero) then they are doing great!

I like to buy parts from them. I always know they use and sell excellent quality stuff.

They do make a pretty cool muzzle device (The Nox) and their mlok rails are pretty nice as well.
SOLGW should not even be spoken in the same sentence as Knights Armament. Period.
One is the very top of the food chain, the other a dumb boutique parts assembler. |
They sure went from unknown to marketing success rapidly, take note.
But their stuff is way overpriced. It's just standard dime a dozen AR stuff. They may assemble some nice parts but who couldn't for 2700 bucks. |
I didn't know anything about them really until I saw the owner on a Brownell's video talking about A5 gas systems. He seems to have a passion for it.

Good CS, but not near the top of the best AR-15's being made.
I've never heard of them.
ARs were easy back in the day. Just ABC and the 'Chart'. |
I was tempted to buy the Geissele/SOLGW collaboration upper on Brownell’s during BF…I waited too long. Oh well.

Have a barrel and LPK for a 11.5" pistol. Had no idea who they were as it was the only 11.5" I could find at the time and happened to need an LPK for the build as well.
It shoots. All that matters I guess? |
Lmao
Solgw same as kac Lmaooooooooooooooooooo Lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo |
Manufacturers and assemblers are not the same.
Instagram marketing. That’s all it is. |
People on this site constantly say PSA is good, I wouldn't expect them to know anything about quality AR rifles.
I love SOLGW, hell, half of my rifles are built on sons lowers. But they are not in the same league as lmt or kac or hodge |
They're definitely #1 at marketing. That's not saying their product isn't good, but I would never say they're at the same level as KAC, LMT, or HK.
Usually when I am buying something like this, I buy the company, the product is a reflection of the company involved.
Crappy company usually produces a crappy product. A great company provides me a great product. |

How do they guarantee these tight specs? Do they have a metrology department?
Give it a bit. Eventually arfcom will hate them and some busybodies will claim they never liked them first.
Bandsaw Have bill call me BCM PSA lost a customer…. |

You're paying for quality control, and not shitty parts sourced from you don't know where. Transparency and upfront specs are what you get. I have a few bcg's but I'm happy with my sionic rifles.

Whenever I hear about how awesome a place is about customer service with their product too often I consider many people are having problems with their products.

I don’t have a complete SOLGW gun, but I have used 14 of their LPKs over the last two years and their lowers are Mega. Can’t beat ‘em.
They just had a 13.7 pin and weld job with a 13 inch Geissele rail upper that looked pretty damn good. Almost bit but it was something like 1,200-1,300 bucks

Great guys, great customer service, great product, fair prices.
Boom. |
They are selling some good stuff.
I'm not a huge fan of the marketing, but c'est la vie. |

What’s going to keep them from becoming another Spike’s?
Very similar, disruptive business models, 10 years apart. |
