AMGs are shitboxes just like Fieros. Haven't you ever asked yourself why they depreciate so fucking hard? They cost more to maintain outside of warranty than they are worth. Porsche 911 is where it's at when it comes to German cars.

If OP's neighbor(or anyone else the OP has come in contact with) dropped a V8 into a Fiero, the only reason to bitch about it is if the person spent OP's money to do so. By all means roll your eyes at if you don't like it, but there are a hell of a lot more important things to worry about.
Shit, if I had a Fiero, and the time and skill to drop a V8 into it and do it right, I'd have to think about it myself. |

You and your kind that swapped Northstars in Fieros are the reason why my father dumped his plans to swap a supercharged V6 into a clean MR2 chassis he acquired. It was all there, sitting in our garage read to to go. And you know what happened? Some guy from church had the same idea as you and couldn't get it running. My father offered to help, saw the nightmare of a wiring job the guy did and completely gave up hope in cars, and nearly life itself. Over the next few months all the fun projects my father had or had planned slowly disappeared to be replace with a Camry. All because of that nightmare Fiero and the bubba fucked wiring job from that Cadillac engine. Ok, some of it may have been because he had too many projects and my mother was pissed off about him wanting even more, but it's still easier to blame the Fiero. |

Depends on the definition of “souped up”.
2002 Nissan Altima with intake, ricey exhaust, whale tale spoiler, vents in venders to cool down the huge 8” brakes, and a scoop on the hood......well, it’s your car, do what you want, but please don’t think it’s fast. Putting actual work into any vehicle to double or triple the OEM HP specs.....respect, no matter what you can or can’t afford. Side note, I love cool sleepers. I’d guess 95% of womenz do not. Not exactly pussy-pullers. |

At least the E30 had some redeeming qualities. All the shit boxes I have built are still on the road. My highly modified shitbox Mustang is up to about 42,000 miles on it since it was modified, I have replaced one set of spark plugs, upgraded the cams and replaced a flex tube in the turbo flange. I have never had any of my modified shit boxes leave me on the side of the road. I am not rich enough to own an AMG, but if I were, I wouldn't.

Was at a domestic (and domestic powered) car show and watched a kid get shit all over by a bunch of checkbook hotrodders. His car was an obviously garage built Nissan S13 (240SX) with a FWD 5.3 LSX setup stuffed behind the seats. It was rough around the edges but I thought it was one of the cooler cars there. Finally got fed up with the jorts wearing 55+ asshats and said something along those lines out loud. "This is hotrodding right here" I really could appreciate the blood, sweat and tears invested in it. |
