I support this. We already have many assets in space that need to be protected as well as managed. Current Air Force doctrine regarding space assets typically concerns itself with usage of the asset, but not necessarily the other aspects of the assets. Putting a space force in charge will hopefully allow for better overall management.

Does anyone else remember the guy from the UK who hacked into the CIA? Servers. He found a list of non terrestrial officers and there was speculation that they do have service crews in space. He also found files of different ufos and what not. Sounds interesting and I wonder if there’s relation to this.

USMC was kicking around it's own Space Marine program ten years ago, something called "Hot Eagle" (not making that up). It was imagined to be a sub-orbital landing craft like Scaled Composites' SpaceShipOne/SpaceShipTwo, continental US to anywhere in 2 hours, but just as importantly not legally violating anybody's airspace on the way there, and very difficult to defend against.

My bet is this will be what constitutes much of the new branch, allowing the airforce to concentrate largely on what happens with earth's atmosphere.

Plus it puts other controls on notice, kinda like Reagan did in the 80s.
