Sheeting on wing will look off when lit from below. I'd taper it in another spar or two. This is from experience building R/C aircraft in the same ways, but with lighter wood. View Quote We are planning on only having the sheeting attaching to the 1/4" ribbing. |

I started to post about the wing angle twice, and both times I stopped, thinking I didn't want to disrupt progress. I finally opted to send an IM. Glad it wasn't too hard to straighten out. Looks much better.

Quoted: Update 10/6 T shirt designs We have 3 designs right now. We can modify them if we need to. We are hoping to offer all three. Thanks for giving a shoutout to the folks @ Rockwell. If you could find a Rockwell retirees forum I bet you could fund your next 3 projects. |

They aren't fond of #1, but I told them it's not really aimed at you. I'm hoping arfcom can give a little feed back on hese. We can surely make all three, or if one design isn't popular with anyone, we can delete it or modify it. |

Much as I like #1, I'm betting some <censored> would claim that image was under copywrite the day after you got the shirts. Otherwise, it'd be #1 on my list. So 1, 3, 2 would be my choices.

For the T-shirts, #3 is my favorite, but I would buy a #3 and a #1.
One thought/suggestion for a door gunner shirt, put the patch on the front, and the back of the #3 shirt as the back, if the students don't like such a large door gunner. |

If the back graphic in #1 was in the same style as #2 and #3, I'd like it more. As it stands, #3 is best.

Very well could be. I would not be worried about it. There are thousands of images of the space shuttle in that position with door open in the NASA domain. They are public as it is a government entity. As long a you do not include the image of a famous person you should be OK. As for the door gunner if you drew it I doubt there is a close copy out there. EBR |

Might be an interesting week.
We had yesterday off. I'm leaving Friday though Tues to hunt with my son, so the shuttle project will be unsupervised for a few days. My stress meter is off the charts for this, but I think I have it somewhat planned out so nothing too permanent can be ruined. I'm going to plan out with my lead students on what I want to happen while I'm gone and have them take over the supervision of different details. There may be many tiles cut out over those days I'm gone. |

I don't know how I missed this one for so long. Good job so far Guns!

Project coming along very nicely!
It occurred to me that a great thread would be one where you post only pictures of each completed project. A couple of shots of each finished one. Rather than have to search back through all the past threads. Kind of an online display case (in case it hasn't been done before and I missed it). Just an idea. Keep up the good work! |

Question: Are you using the 18 ga Bostitch Air Stapler/nailer to connect the spars together, as well as the sheeting onto the skeleton? Brads or staples?
Wondering which you are using, and if there's a special type (stainless, elctro-galvanized gold, dip galvanized silver, etc). I use the narrow gauge staples for a lot of stuff, especially since staple guns (T50 size, typical) tend to bend too much on me. Narrow gauge staples anchor stuff together as good as sheetrock screws, and without splitting the wood! |
