I searched and could not find anything but why are these things selling for so much money, and why are people so obsessed with them? Is it a chick thing?

Smart, effective marketing to rubes who think owning a cup makes them special.

Some women don't see it, but it's amazing that what the big retailers are putting out this year is conveniently the new style. You wouldn't want to be out of style would you? So come on down and buy buy buy! |

Women were told by the internet that they need a Stanley to be cool so they bought a Stanley.
Those same women will be told they need to vote for Biden of Newsom to be cool, so they will. |

It's a quality mug, for starters. Then a video went viral of one that still had ice in it after a car fire. Now all the ladies want one.

I’m sure I’m not the only one here that has a cabinet full of Yeti/Ozark Trail, Hydro Flask and now Stanley cups and associated lids and straws.

I won two and work and my wife got one as a gift.
They are good for two things. Falling over when full and spilling. Also, being a status symbol for basics. My 7 year old is a basic white girl like my wife and carries hers all the time. It’s about the size of her. It’s just a pop culture fade. |

They are the "new" Yeti tumbler.
Next year it will be rubber coated ceramic mugs or some shit. |

I wasn't familiar with it and since none of you assholes posted a pic, I did an image search for it. Yeah, clearly a chick thing.

Best Tumbler? Stanley vs Yeti? Let’s Find Out! |

Quoted: Middle class white women... View Quote ...with kids. I haven't heard a damn thing about these until my wife told me last week. She's an assistant principal at a middle school and all the middle school girls are going crazy over them, even some "middle class" teachers who have young girls as early as 7-8 were putting these Stanley cups on their Christmas lists. Good marketing, effective "influencers" and gullible, easily manipulated girls and women... ROCK6 |

Now if we could only figure out a way to make it a fad to give blowjobs...

Or Fjallraven Kanken backpacks. |

90s basic bitches bought beanie babies. Today’s basic bitch buys Stanleys.

Chick thing for sure. Marketing genius and Stanley got lucky young women took the bait.
People fall for name brands all the time. ARFCOM members are often no different with gun brands. I didn’t know it was a thing until my wife told me. I offered to buy her one for a Christmas gift. She thankfully turned me down. She isn’t an idiot. |

Quoted: Wait, is that new again? When I was in junior high 30+ years ago that was for the kids whose parents were too cheap or poor to buy Starter but not so poor they shopped secondhand. View Quote The Champion phase has really fizzled out. I’d imagine in a year it’ll be back to poors status. Like realitycheck mentioned, the Hydroflask cups were all the rage 2 years ago. $50 plastic beverage vessel with a $50 sleeve that goes over it. They’ve been relegated to the back of cupboards now. Stanley cups will follow soon, replaced by the next fad. |

View Quote In my experience, my Contigo mugs are way better at keeping coffee hot for longer than any yeti I have tried. I have filled a Contigo mug at 7am and not opened it until noon at work and the coffee is still steaming. When I did the same with a mag lid yeti, the coffee was lukewarm at best. |

I filled my yetis and the knockoffs with ice water and hot water and stuck thermometers in them to compare how long they would go. Nearly identical performance within the margin of error. |

Friendship has ended with Hydroflask, Stanley quencher is my new best friend.
People are fucking weird as shit. (Says the MFer with the unity riser). |

Stopped for breakfast with a buddy before heading out shooting Friday morning. Couple walks in and gets seated across from us and the female has her Stanley tumbler with her. She proceeds to ask for water and pours it into the tumbler and drank from it instead of the water glass.
Just seemed odd, especially since she had no issues drinking out of the coffee cup. |
