That’s pretty cool. I was bummed when it got canned. They’ve done a terrible job with SW games as of late.

Favreau's live action series is "The Mandalorian"

"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe.  The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order.  We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic...."

Probably sometime in late 2019. That would be my best guess. In the meantime, here’s a pretty interesting video on what Ahsoka has become during Rebels:

I've been watching the series with my 10 year old. We're in season 3.

I am embarrassed to say I am learning a lot of "history" with the series. I was rather oblivious to the clone/separatist stuff beyond the big screen offering.

The bite-size episodes make it easy to throw on when we have our occasional idle time.

Season 3 was when things really started getting better for the most part. It definitely took a darker turn which continued in later seasons. It was a show that got better as it went on.

For all the SJW hatred around here, I’d much rather see a prequel series about Jyn Erso. But a Cassian series has some potential, if they can work K2 in.

Possibly. But it really feels like they don’t have much of a pulse on what the fandom actually wants (TCW notwithstanding). Rather, it seems like they are more interested in developing their new characters than the ones we actually care about.

The reviews I’ve read or listened to haven’t been great. Seems like the consensus is that the characters are forgettable, the writing leaves something to be desired, and the tone is childish. Plus I really couldn’t care less about the Sequel Trilogy era.

I'll prolly watch it.   Like I've said many of times, they have thousands of years to work with.   Yet they keep using the same 70 year time period.   I just wish they would go back in time a few hundred years or jump a few hundred years in time.

Yeah, I would love to see some Old Republic stuff instead of the same old. They are trying so hard to push these new characters but they just aren’t compelling or interesting. I think that’s why they’re stuck in the ST era.

The writing is really geared towards young children. CW always had some very serious undertones, and you could clearly see it was being written for more than one audience.

Resistance is very one-dimensional, and Kazuda is really hard to "buy" as an adult. Most of the characters are just plain boring.

Now if you give me a Cassian series that shows the rougher side of the rebellion, that I would watch the hell out of. I didn't mind Jyn at all, but I would much rather see the series of events in his life that made Cassian into the hardened and cynical commando he was. We got to see his hope restored before the end, but I would be interested to see how he lost it.

Well it was graphic. I remember the first time someone got killed and thinking wait. They're killing people on this and it's on a cartoon station?!?! Why did I wait so long to watch
I remember the guy taunting Obi and Satine about who was gonna kill him and next thing you see is a blade through his chest and Anakin, like what. Or better yet the force choke he put on Bariss in the end
TCW is probably the best SW out there other than the 4-6

Yeah, there were some kinda graphic scenes and mature themes in the show, such that I wouldn’t want my younger kids to watch it. There are a couple of YouTube videos out there with a compilation of all the brutal scenes in the show. It’s kind of eye-opening.

I remember the first time seeing bodies slashed by lightsabers glowing along the edges of the cut. I thought that was pretty cool and surprising they would go there.

When it first came out I tried to watch an episode but just couldn't get into the animation. Fast forward to just a few months ago. I gave it a go on netflix, saying just try to get through a season. I wound up getting hooked. But I remember thinking wow they showed this on tv, lots of killing and even open mouth kissing between Anakin and Padme.

Sure was and it wasn't just those droids.
Shoot the explosion in the jedi temple was pretty bad.
Watched a couple episodes over the weekend and still think, wow the jedi are some dumb f'rs and got what they had coming.
But when Snips decided to walk away, you're like man, look what all her an Anakin went through and what he later became...wow...

You've got to watch TCW if you really want to understand why he turned to the Dark Side. The movies didn't do a good job really. At least not imo.

They only provided a skeletal framework for the plot, TCW filled it in and gave it meaning. That includes Anakin’s fall and the reasons for it. He always had some dark tendencies, but I think Ahsoka’s departure not only made him more vulnerable to it, but also began the distrust of the Jedi which eventually led to his betrayal of the Order. None of that context is apparent from the films alone.

what's funny is, all of that stuff would have been gtg for PG rated moves in the 70s and 80's and no one thought twice about it

Yeah he always showed dark tendencies...Mind tricks?? Who said anything about mind ticks#pimpslap hahaha
From the movies I was like he went to the dark side just over Padme?!? After looking at TCW it was much more than that, Ahsoka leaving had a major part in him questioning the jedi and his allegiance  and the council kinda pissed me off at the end. We see now this was your great test, blah blah blah....none of you mf'rs believed in my except Anakin. I'm out of here...
I have to believe Ahsoka also knew about Anakin and Padme relationship.
Makes you wonder what would have happened if he had walked away from the order.

You're not missing anything. Trying to get into it, Rebels and The Clone Wars didn't grab me right away either but I don't think this one will ever. This has been super bland and boring. It's basically Speed Racer if Speed Racer worked at Autozone, didn't have a car, and everybody thought he was an asshole.

Lol, with such a ringing endorsement I think I’ll continue to pass. TCW and Rebels weren’t at their strongest when they began, but they were still enough to keep me watching until they got better. This doesn’t sound like it ever will.

Resistance is not really developing characters or building relationships between them.  With all the pre show stuff on the Aces and Team Fireball I expected we would see more interaction and stories involving more than just Kaz.

the episode where Anikian destroys the slave selling planet's royalty should have been a included in the prequels.

the fact that Anakin was born a slave is heavily downplayed in the prequals and this 20 min episode completely explains all of Anakins hate, fear, love & all the emotions that make him a sith.

My wife and I just watched that arc last week. It definitely did a lot to explain Anakin’s emotions and the way his troubled past continued to affect him later in life. There were also some pretty cool ZFG lightsaber kills in the final episode, along with some pretty funny moments from Ahsoka: “Unhand me, brigand!” *said awkwardly, looks even more awkwardly*

I thought the same too, as long as they don’t retcon a bunch of OT and PT stuff. If anything, I guess it’s a way to get the younger crowd familiar with the older stuff since many of them are only familiar with ST material. So that’s good I guess.
