So, is there any word on why they totally ripped off a clone wars episode? Like beat for beat?

I mean it's cool to do like an homage, but there's the same story in the same universe already. Seems kinda cheap.

Dont remember Scout Walkers ever having those glowing red front windows, guess it was added for a more menacing look at night.

I don’t think so. It seemed like a low level “general quarters” interior lighting like you see on a submarine, at least in the movies.

looked rather orkish.

Plot annoyed me though... why not sneak through the camp and just blow it up in their sleep.
Why not poison the food or water in the camp and then steal the AT-ST?
Or just blow the AT-ST instead of the hut.

It would make more sense, but be a less exciting script.
Ginas character said there wasn’t any weapons on the planet that could destroy the legs of that AT-ST
Right, but when the AT-ST was in the camp the cabin was at ground level. They could have snuck in and tossed a charge through one of the visors like they did when it was at ground level in the village.

But then there wouldn’t have been a climactic ending.

So basically, it's a show about a grown man, who never changes his clothes/awkward around women, stealing a baby and transporting it to a remote planet and killing people who try to rescue the baby.

The helmet thing is probably unique to his clan, because in Clone Wars and Rebels they had their helmets off more than on.

Agreed.   Felt a lot like a Disney show instead of a Star award show.    No doubt due to the director ( Dallas Howard) playing nice.  Shows what difference a director makes.  Still I enjoyed it overall.

Looking forward to next weeks episode directed by Fioni.   I’m Expecting him to deep dive into a Star Wars lore.

According to the Historical Documents I've watched, AT-STs can be destroyed using logs dropped from trees and rocks.

It was a pivot episode.  Next week starts the back half of the season and things will ramp up.  At least one "slow" episode seems obligatory in most series, keeps the narrative but may save some budget for other episodes.  Plus still more characters teased that haven't appeared yet.

If you haven't done so, watch that episode of Myth Buster's where they put to the test the logs crushing the AT-ST.   They use an armored bank car as their test subject.   Pretty freekin awesome!

Episode 4 was the weakest so far but not terrible.

As soon as it ended, I said "yeah, that seemed like an episode directed by Bryce Dallas Howard."

It was written to give the viewer more emotional attachment to the characters and it succeeded.  It showed that Mando isn't just a total stoic badass that lives for violence and baby Yoda isn't some mystical being that is content doing nothing but eating frogs and doing force stuff.  He is a kid and he enjoys kid stuff.  Most viewers came away from episode 4 with more empathy for Mando and more love for the tiny adaorable green puppet.

I could buy her out wrestling Mando though.  She just needs to get him on the ground and sit on him.  I'm sure even though she's put on the kilos, there are plenty of members here who would let her sit on them

ETA I googled it.

The dude that plays the mandalorian, Pedro Pascal, is 5'11 and 160 lbs.

Dude is small.

So for folks talking about women beating up men and it not being realistic... The protagonist weighs 160lbs... Lol...

Irl Gena would whip that dude's ass

ETA 2.   Yes, I hate seeing the 98 lb chick in movies beating up dudes twice their weight. It's crap. But here we have two folks not all that different in size, and one of them is very likely augmented due to occupation... Easy to suspend disbelief.

If she sits on you, you just shut up and take it. Resist if you'd like, but if a struggle snuggle is what she seeks, you will be her bitch.

It would seem as though the Empire had a presence there. Just because it's a Backwater world doesn't mean that it doesn't have either a strategic purpose for the Empire at one time or natural resources that was needed and exploited by the Empire

Well written episode and the female shock trooper definitely wasn't out of character. In the original EU, a lot of shock troopers for the rebels came from high gravity worlds and were stronger, hence they'd be selected to be shock troopers. It shows the Mando as someone human and also showed that just because the Empire fell and the Rebels became the New Republic. Nothing is peachy. The former Rebel even said it herself. She felt lost once the Revolution was over and the New Republic was established and became exactly doing what the Empire did. Enforcing the law and cracking down on uprisings.

Bingo.. And as well it's following the style of an Akira Kurosawa or Kazuo Koike story. they both do a lot of action for a while then slow it down with a slow pace that seems to drag. But during that drag, it explores the characters a bit more getting you invested emotionally in there actions and story. Many cannot see it or get in the grove of this style, due to Micheal Bay/JJ Abrams's films with lots of eye candy and explosions, but very weak on character development.

I liked ep4.

It was my daughter's favorite episode.

There were issues with the plot and the acting but it wasn't that bad, and I enjoyed the parenthood gags.

Filoni will bring it back around to action again next week I'm sure.

Question:. Why didn't Mando take out the AT-ST with his ships cannons via a staffing run?

Answer: Far too risky to gamble your starship asset   Very likely he'd be shot down instead and crash.  Ship was also recently taken apart by Jawas and maybe not too reliable in an atmosphere.

EDIT: Need more A-10 warthogs in the SW universe
