In the 70's, my neighbor, who was probably 50 something at the time, used to ride one of those around locally everywhere when the weather was good. It was champagne colored.
As an elementary schooler, I was jealous. |

Tag. I had two of them and had a blast circle tracking them in my neighbor's back yard as a kid. I ran nitro in one of them.

Have you been to this site?

My brother and I had one growing up, we rode the crap out of that thing and it never missed a beat. Good luck OP!

I had one of those as a kid. I carried around Phillips head shaped burn scars on my leg for a long time due to riding in shorts during the summer months. |

I rode one that looked like that only it was red/maroon, if I recall. It was a fun bike to ride arOund the yard and on the easy trails in my area. Funny thing is, I can't remember if it was mine or my neighbor's. We both had a bunch of mini bikes back in the 70's. My memories are getting fuzzy.
I had one of these as well. I'd love to find one and restore it for my kids to learn on. It was a fun bike to ride and learn about maintenance/repair with... |

Nice project OP. Been looking for one of those or a CT90/110 to restore.

I want every bike in this thread.
Somewhere, I have a pic of my buddy cruising down 1604 with his CT70 bungee corded onto the luggage rack of his Fiat Spider. He was the coolest guy I ever knew. |

Nice! The first bike I ever rode was a copper colored Trail 70. I drove it right in to a log housing a bee's nest. Had to retrieve it with a bit of rope and a friend's three wheeler.

I had a swingarm Honda 50 foldup bike that it would seem wasn't made till 1973. I had it in 1969 or 70.
I cn't find anything about these on the web. A fold up 70 would be a great Boat Bike. It is a long walk from the Beer Store in Leamington Ontario to the Marina with a Box o' Beer, |

Well, power went out at my house after work for about 4 hours yesterday, so no updates for this morning. Tough to do work in the dark, especially when it's raining outside.

Cool project OP. Ihad one of those when I was a kid. They are a blast to ride

Quoted: I had a Honda Mini-Trail like the one in the pic as a early teen. It was very tough/quiet and would go places you would not think it would. That thing was great to groundhog hunt with. The seat height made a perfect rifle rest. Dad made me a slip-on wood/rubber pad for the kick stand that allowed me to use it without it sinking into the ground. http://www.brandonparts.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/minitrail_2.jpg Good luck with your project. Well worth doing. View Quote |

This thread is giving me mini-wood. And I don't even have a penis. |

Quoted: I used to be huge into minitrails. The 69 is stock but the 71 has a SL70 H 4 speed motor with a 88 big bore kit, cam, carb, and exhaust. The 71 had been clocked at 53 mph. http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s143/crowdlg/Minitrails/IMG_0205.jpg http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s143/crowdlg/Minitrails/IMG_0208.jpg I also used to have a 1999 Chrome Gorilla but I sold it. The other bike is a 1986 Chrome x-mas special, there were only 2 per dealer. http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s143/crowdlg/Minitrails/chromez50s-1.jpg View Quote I fent. |

I got it running with a through carb cleaning, tank cleaning, a new ignition coil, and a spark plug. I took it for a dig down to the mailbox this morning |

Started paint removal on the frame yesterday and found some problems where the engine bolts up. There are a couple of reinforcement tabs that are broken and the un-reinforced holes are egged out a little bit. Looks like I'll be doing some welding. Will post some pics when I return from my trip this weekend. Also need to upgrade my sand blaster. |

Finally back from my trip. Work will resume tomorrow evening.

How many miles on the bike, or did I miss that?? Cool project.
