The Ten Fidy is very good. The Southern Tier is good, but I prefer boozier stouts.

Those are all excellent! Haven't tried the KBS Espresso though.

Have 2 bombers of Pre Mountie Ban 2017 and a 4 pack of 2018 CBS in the beer fridge.

I think the alcohol content on this was about 5.5%.

Very hoppy to the extent that it was in the nose and the roasted malt was just about extinguished. Same with flavor, hopps overpowered the taste. I think the roasted malt was very good but too hard to separate it from the hopps. The body was watery. Great head though. I won't be buying this one again but may try another type from Black Butte.

Had a great new (to me) stout last night at Alamo Drafthouse, but when I checked their website to remember the name, they still have an old menu up that doesn't show it.

So... still don't know what I drank. It was good, though.

In honor of the great nation of Poland for helping Ukraine, I am drinking:

Zywiec Baltic Porter, 9.5%,
- nice smoky malt
- light hops, very slight bitter aftertaste
- clean finish, lightly carbonated
- no strong alcohol taste
- light carmel nose

I can drink this! Goes great with oysters.

Nice! I will have to see if Jungle Jim's carries that in their import section.

I picked this up earlier in the week when I was getting the first Oberon of the year:

Deschutes is the brewery.  Try their Abyss stout(s).  Or they've a reserve line with various Roman numerals denoting various versions that might be more to your liking.  I like Black Butte; it's not Fuller's Porter, or Sinebrychoff, but other porters don't have to be.  You do have to like licorice taste though.

Drinking Saint Arnold's Pumpkinator now.  It's quite good.  Especially at 4 dollars a bomber (thank you Randalls).

If you find yourself in Spring, Texas, Excalibur Brewing's stouts are well worth your time

Found a bonus bottle of Guinness in the fridge. I don’t know how old it was, but it tasted fine.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but Old Leghumper is from Ohio and rates an 85 (very good) on beeradvocate.com.

Helped my older son put a new fuel pump in his 1984 Corvette so I had a treat (and it hit 75 degrees today!).
DuClaw Brewing Company
For Pete's Sake Imperial Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter
- 9%
- smooth
- nice head
- creamy
- chocolate porter taste with roasted (not burned) malt
- nose was chocolate Porter (not real strong)
- slight bitter hopps finish (I dislike hopps)
-very mild peanut butter finish (not strong enough)

Great beer and I would buy it again. Alcohol a bit high for my liking but didn't taste like it.

A couple of you guys recommended this one. So, here goes:
Southern Tier Brewing Company
2X Milk Stout
Double Milk Stout
- 7.5% alcohol
- decent head
- hoppy nose
- carbonation: big bubbles
- smooth but watery (not a milk stout in my opinion)
- big bitter hopps aftertaste (I HATE HOPPS)
- malt taste hard to spot

But, it went okay with smoked clams.

Samuel Adam's Honey Porter was also a favorite in the 1990s. Although I hate hops, I will put up with a lightly hoppy dark beer. Feel free to tell me about your less/no hops stouts and porters. (Yes, I still like Guinness!)

The Maui Coconut Porter is my favorite beer and has been for a number of years.  I will say it seems better out of the tap than the can though.

This White Mountain is a close second, but I don't think it's available outside of Hawaii.  Might even be only on Big Island.
