Went to the Seattle brewfest a few weeks ago. One stout about knocked me on my ass by how good it was... I gave it the nickname Breakfast Cereal Stout.

It was the When In Stout, Add Peanut Butter from Heathen Brewing in Vancouver, WA.

I didnt even know pastry stouts were a thing before that.

Nuthouse Peanut Butter Porter - Millersburg, Ohio
6.1% ABV

- nice peanut butter nose
- light peanut butter taste
- very good porter taste
- a little hoppy and hoppy finish (I hate hopps)
- Carbonation is light but bubbles are not small

I can drink this regularly and would love to try it on tap.

KOMES Rasberry Porter (from Poland) brewed with raspberry juice, Madagascar vanilla and Indian chili peppers:

- 8.5 ABV (Oh boy!)
- nice head but went away fast
- very good Porter taste
- nose is a strong rasberry and vanilla porter
- I think the chili pepper taste is there but faint, blended in
- very sweet and strong rasberry taste, like a dessert beer. This is a Port wine version of beer.
- not bitter, not a lot of hopps taste! Yay! (although high sugar may be masking the hopps)
- it did not go well with the smoked mussels

I like it (great quality), but can only drink like 6 ounces: I would love it if the sugar was turned way down and a little lighter on the rasberry. The bottle states:

"When Komes is stored for 36 months, the beer changes its taste [the longer it is stored the drier/less sweet it gets]. Now you can decide how long your Komes will mature."

I will buy another and put it away for a few years and then try it again.

I picked up a new one tonight (I will rate it next week) but I passed on this Founder's because I don't know what it tastes like.

I love Founder's but need more info in this one before I buy it. I've been drinking Founder's Breakfast Stout since the 1990s and it's only $11 for a 4-pack. I wonder why KBS is $18.

Good shit! Used to be much harder to get and highly sought after. Local place used to do bottle releases for it, limit 1 per on a certain date at a certain time type of thing. They've ramped up production because it was so popular.

This 10W-40 is pretty dang tasty, like they all have been. Lots of cocoa and lactose. A tad light on the banana which I thought was a little disappointing. Was hoping it would be a little more pronounced. Solid 8% ABV.

KBS is fantastic. Unfortunately, it's $25 a 4-pack in my area! I do have a few packs put away from previous years, but I generally reserve those for fall and winter enjoyment. I love Breakfast Stout as well.

I've seen that (or one like it) before.  Haven't pulled the trigger, but your review might change that.

I'm on a booze hiatus for the next week and a half.  Stupid antibiotics.  Stupid insistence by my dentist that acetaminophen had to be included in the painkiller stack.  So it goes.

I'll include a pick or two of Arthur's Ashes (a rather tasty IS from Excalibur Brewing in Spring) when i get to fall back off the wagon again.  Or something from Southern Yankee Brewing, who also makes tasty stuff here in the Houston environs.

Have you had their Pumking before? It is the gold standard by which every other pumpkin beer should be measured. Their rum barrel aged Pumking is, somehow, even better.
