I've sworn off Stone since their little I'm Peach game.

Plenty of other options for good beer.

Also on my blacklist: Revolution Brewing, Urban Artifact, and Rhinegeist.

Revolution? They are on your blacklist? I hope there's a reason other than the beer because they have arguably the best barrel program going on in the country.

Unless it is a lambic, don't buy beers with fruits in the name.

Alright then. Point taken.

Still, one of the best barrel aged programs in the country. Unfortunate for his views.

I'm a big fan of BA stuff. That's why I've really taken a liking to Wooden Cask. Every BA offering from them I've had has been really good (and even their non BA stuff ).

ETA: FYI for the readers... Urban Artifact and Rhinegeist are both local. Urban Artifact was hosting Antifa meetings and Rhinegeist took to Twitter to solicit bail funds for rioters during the Summer Of Love, rather than for fellow small business owners who had their businesses damaged/destroyed during our rioting here. They caught a bunch of flack and deleted the tweet but I was done with them after. They had some really good BA stuff too.

I picked up some Pendejo Porter by Little Toad Creek when I was in NM last month. I bought it on a whim due to the name, but it was damn good. I was really impressed by most NM beers I tried. They seem to have a good brew scene going.

Not bad. Hi-Wire seems to make pretty good stuff but not as much coconut as I'd like.

Anyone else hit Toppling Goliath this weekend?

$100 12oz bottles and $20 4oz pours for the win?

It was nice to finally Tick off Assassin... Was not expecting that or the KBBS DB Reserve to be pouring on tap.

DB Cranks up the barrel/booze over regular. You get huge bourbon and maple in this one. Mouthfeel is great as it is incredibly viscous. Giving a nod to the regular for the win department. 4.75/5

While DB accentuates the barrel, regular KBBS is simply a perfectly balanced masterpiece. KBBS is like a palate symphony going off inside your mouth. Absolutely lives up to the hype the first time you try it. KBBS remains a 5/5 and the King of Stouts for me.

I was able to find some Southern Tier Warlock recently.  Probably my favorite of the "pumpkin" beers.

This one is one my absolute favorites:

Samuel Adam's Honey Porter was also a favorite in the 1990s. Although I hate hops, I will put up with a lightly hoppy dark beer. Feel free to tell me about your less/no hops stouts and porters. (Yes, I still like Guinness!)

(This is like my first non-political non-gun post! Feels, weird...)

I always liked the Sammy Smith's chocolate stout better than Oaty, but I didn't admit that to my hippie friends a youth

I need to give it another go. I had some a long while back and I remember while it wasn't bad, it didn't do a lot for me, especially compared to Pumking.

I grabbed a Trader Joe's Barrel Aged Stout over the weekend and it was surprisingly good. 11% abv, brewed by Campanology Brewery out of Wisconsin. Good price point, very tasty, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, caramel notes. Definitely getting again.

Goose Island stouts have arrived and the prices..  Fuck!

The typical bourbon barrel is $17 a bottle and the fancier coffee and a couple others were marked $25 a bottle.

I'm pretty sure I paid $11 or $12 a bottle last year.

I spent $25 and got a twelve pack of Firestone Mocha Dolce nitro stout instead.

Allotment or bust... Picked up an extra 4 pack of the Willett as well (not in pic). Grab that over Wild Turkey 4's is my opinion. Going to grab another Barleywine and 30th as well.

Go ahead and skip the coffee. Juice ain't worth the $20-25...

Pricing is bizarre. Every store near me has Founders KBS for $26-$28 a four-pack. I stopped in a random store around 30 miles from me, and their regular price is $16. Two miles away from that store, $27.
Anyway, that's a nice haul you've got there.
