Florida fires Grantham and O line coach Hevesy |

Quoted: https://www.si.com/college/florida/football/florida-gators-todd-grantham-part-ways-2021 Florida fires Grantham and O line coach Hevesy View Quote Hevesy has been with Mullen for awhile now. Grantham has been with Mullen the longest of any defensive coordinator he's ever had. At MSU we had a different DC nearly every year. Longest stint was 2 years and those weren't consecutive (Manny Diaz). |

Quoted: Yep. When you lose 4 out of 5 starters on your offensive line and your starting QB. You're damn right we are no longer a Top 5 team. We luckily got one of our O-line back, but we are still sitting on the youngest O-line in the SEC with the least amount of experience. The only reason we are now clicking is the talent that was recruited and the coaching getting them up to speed. Not sure where we will end up, but we are a shadow of our pre-season selves and are one hit away from playing a 3rd stringer walk on QB. So yes, I agree, we were over ranked at the start of the year. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: I guess you could say the same about TAM then. They were totally overrated at the start of the year. Agreed? Yep. When you lose 4 out of 5 starters on your offensive line and your starting QB. You're damn right we are no longer a Top 5 team. We luckily got one of our O-line back, but we are still sitting on the youngest O-line in the SEC with the least amount of experience. Everyone talks about teams being underrated or overrated every season, but teams evolve as the season goes on because of injuries, learning, maturity, coaching, etc. Sometimes a starter goes down and a team loses games because of it, but sometimes a backup has the lightbulb go off and makes the team better. Teams their favorite team beat are always meaningful wins and teams they hate always play cupcakes. Geez. |

Was either get rid of them or fired himself. I think getting rid of them will buy him 1 more year, but we’ll see. That’s if they win out. Coordinators and staff will be important too So as the local Tech expert it’s a solid hire in your opinion? Honestly I think it coulda gone worse. JM is seemingly an excellent person and top notch recruiter. Literally recruiting West Texas better than Matt Wells or Kliff could. First hire that wasn't the first guy interviewed, and a committee decided not the AD by himself as he sucks at FB coach hires He's 5 years removed as Cedar Hill HS HC, and self proclaimed not an X and Os guy. Hearing the budget for coordinators is more than the normal ~500k range, hoping assistants have greater than the usual ~125k range too.. need to put a really solid staff together. Mike Leaches TTU staffs included Holgo, Briles, Dykes, Riley, Ruffin, etc. Neal Brown under Tubberville is the only assistant currently a HC at WVU |
|
Joey McGuire is supposed to be a recruiter and personality/interpersonal skills akin to Mack Brown or Pete Carrol. TX HS coaches seem to think its a slam dunk hire for TTU... we need better players and actual depth with quality players. |

That’s the head coach’s line of thinking that if they deflect and make it look like the coordinator was the problem he will get a second chance. I understand the logic, but what I’m saying is that the AD and boosters usually decide the head coach is the problem. |

SEC Shorts - Florida tries to win a hot seat |

Incarnate Word in San Antonio has their winningest HC Eric Morris ... he's 21-17 over 4 years but 7-2 this year. Kid from Shallowater Texas (lubbock Suburb now) and former TTU OC under Kliff. His wife is about 10000x better looking than he is so I'm surprised he's not a better recruiter |
