Yup. Nothing wrong with the rant but a little narc like that doesn’t belong on the team. Lots of stuff should be kept in-house.

We're catching hell about it from the sports writers. He's too hard on his players he shouldn't call them out etc.

Fuck that shit. Our kickers had 1 job to do and they didn't do it. If anything it teaches them to take criticism and improve their game.

Keep in mind though our starting kicker was really good until he got injured and he's not back to being right.

Our backup kicker is a walk on. So, yeah we're scraping the barrel right now. We didn't recruit a kicker because our starting guy was good.

I think it's a fantastic move on his part.

Paul Finebaum can go choke himself. I can't stand that guy and for some reason he just plain hates anything MSU.

i totally supported this whole post until i got the finebaum comment and i just have to speak up. it should be finebaum can go fuck himself.  its beyond me how that dude keeps his damn job.

Exactly for the reason you just expressed. Controversy. Everyone hates Finebaum but can’t quit talking about him.

Finebaum is a radio troller, he just does it on TV now.  Bama has some interesting fans

Slimebaum is a notorious shit stirrer.  He’s a prototypical sports writer in a field where sportswriters make up for lack of talent by causing controversy.  Slimebaum is a UT graduate, btw.

I'm surprised hes a college graduate at all

He’s clever.  Sports media figured out pissing people off sells as well as anything else.  I’m not a fan of bullshit.  Slimebaum outed himself as someone who’s never played a down of football when he was whining about Saban snatching a knot in Kiffin’s ass for getting cute with his play calling.  If you want to play football, you’re going to have coaches dog cussing you and grabbing your face mask.

This.  Davis needed to snatch a knot in their ass if they were clowning around after an embarrassing loss.

Been a rough few weeks with stripper monkey biting that kid at Halloween, his confrontation with the kid that’s now in the portal and now this. Actually feel bad for the guy.

About the stuff you posted? No. They don’t care about that.

About 4 losses in a row. 3 with double digit leads in the 2nd half? They’re pissed about that.’

It doesn’t matter though, he’s not getting fired this year barring actual scandal like drinking on the job (or a loss to Kansas).

Shenanigans, strippers, monkeys biting kids, and not winning games is usually plenty to be upset about

It’s at least double that 37 million by the time you buy out assistants and rehire a new HC and staff. Then they have that Big12 buyout hanging out there unless they want to languish in the Big12 for another 3 (?) years. Gotta be pushing 100 - 125 million between the 2. That’s a lot of money no matter who you are. Especially when none of that guarantees anything.

I agree with that.

I don’t agree that a verbal argument with a known problem player who had been given a second chance by the previous regime is an issue that approaches a firing offense.

I don’t agree that a pet biting someone is anything that approaches a fireable offense.

If this stuff had happened in season 3 with a .575 record, they would have weight. As it stands? It doesn’t.

I agree with all of that.  Firing a HC &/or staff after year 1 is a bad look and really really bad for the program.  Texas Tech had like 8 Defensive coordinators the last 12 years and it definitely showed

Losing to Kansas year 1 should be a fireable offense for cause.  Matt Wells did that

Yes, if Texas falls to Kansas, Sark should immediately be fired.

Having said that, I posted the record a page or two back in the thread. Texas is 16-1 against KU football in the Big Xii. We’ve lost once since 1938. That guy thinks he’s witty, but he is way way off base.

ETA: OU might have lost to Kansas this season if it weren’t for officiating shenanigans, so I wouldn’t be shocked if Kansas beat Texas.

I expect Texas to go 3-0 to finish the season, they lost to 3 ranked teams and Iowa State who has been ranked a bunch this season and is in the Big 12 runner up race

Bama did just fine with 10 conference games... at least with last year's team .... they did skull drag every SEC opponent.

They need to go to 9 with Okie and Texas joining.
If not they’ll hardly ever play some conference opponents. It’s bad enough now.

What they need to do is have 4 divisions of 4. Play your 3 divisional opponents every year and then 2 each from the other 3 divisions. Do that for 2 years with a home and home and then play the other 6 cross divisional members in years 3 & 4 in a home and home.

9 conference games a year and you play everyone in the conference twice every 4 years. And take the 2 best teams to the conference championship even if they are in the same division.

I'm really hoping SEC will be the first to go to pods, as I think that'll provide the best schedules and matchups year after year.

My first football practice coach put my ass and face in the dirt.

We've been friends for nearly 30 year since

Exactly.  Been head slapped and face masked grabbed, too.

That’s a possibility.
I doubt they’ll want to give up any of the 3 G5 or FCS opponents.

New Playoffs:

SEC with a bunch of 2-10 teams
B1G with a bunch of 2-10 teams
PAC 12 left out

ACC and BIG12 are group of rest

Are SEC officials calling the NIU- Ball State game?

Questionable interception vs completion.
DB had the ball to the ground WR wrestles it away from him.
They call it a completion.
No review, despite a team calling a TO.

Not if the same team that played Florida and LSU shows up....and that assumes Alabama gets by Arkansas and Auburn.  Granted, A&M still has to beat Ole Miss and LSU, so who knows how the west will turn out this season.  I *really* thought Auburn was in the driver's seat, but they absolutely laid an offense egg last week.

I think the road game with Tennessee will tell a lot about Georgia this weekend.  Not so much offensively, but how well their defense (specifically secondary) plays against a really solid passing attack.  Tennessee was only down one score late against Alabama, until they gave up 28pts in the 4th....and just put up 45 on the road against a decent defensive unit in Kentucky.  Crazy thing is, Tennessee only had the ball 14 mins the entire game, gave up 612 yards and 35 first downs, and still won by 3 pts.  I believe this is going to potentially be a very tough road test for Georgia, especially if it stays real vanilla on offense.  I *really* want to see Daniels start from here on out, but I doubt its going to happen....I just don't believe Bennett is the guy to beat Alabama.

With the shuffling of players at virtually every position this season, not sure it really makes a difference.  Don't get me wrong, not having Anderson is a big deal, but I just don't see it as a team distraction.

I agree.  Another stat from that Tenn/UK game that's interesting is that Tennessee's defense was on the field for 99 plays.  (80 is around average) Our offense is pretty stellar at wearing teams out and they're defense played a lot of extra downs last week.

The most challenging thing Tennessee will present to Georgia is the speed at which they play and our defense adjusting to it.  I wouldn't be surprised to see them get a couple scores early in the game.  But they're Oline has weak spots and our Dline is generational.

Saban and his army of analysts are likely preparing for Georgia with a lot of their time.  Its the only thing that explains that makes sense

He probably has someone assigned to each game at the beginning of the season. Then when that game is over has them assist someone else in preparing. He probably has 3-4 guys already watching and breaking down game film on Georgia.
