Somehow I remember that in the 1970s I was dressed more like this:

As far as I know, it was considered wierd then, too.

This right here

I was born in 1970,

The 1980’s was the most awesome decade that ever existed, but the ‘70’s were close

I was born in '71, and think to this day that some of the best American music comes from that decade...

Born in late 79 so I wasn't really there for the 70s.

One thing that came to mind looking at the OP's pics. The flamboyant outfits might have been because most of those dudes are painfully ugly.

The 1970's: the decade where they made everything out of "space age" materials without considering whether or not they actually should.

I didn't think about the weird clothes the rock stars wore, it was all about their music. Never was a fan of David Bowie's music though, except for suffragette city. One of the bars I went to had a band that replaced the words, "suffragette city" with, "suck a big titty."

My Brothers....

Though I didn't know of them at the time, because I was a baby. Blood, Sweat, & Tears was my introduction to 70s music, courtesy of my Pop's vinyl albums.

Mom's got a photo of me in blue/white plaid pants, white shirt, white belt, and white platform shoes.  She won't tell me where it is, but someday I'll find it...and into the shredder it goes!

'69 here. You may be right. Together, the '70s and '80s are unquestionably the best two decades of music. Full stop.

The best and the worst.
The further they strayed from black R&B, the worse they got.

At the time, if they had a horn section, I was onboard, as much as a kid born in '71 could be..

In the late 70's, my first duty station was Robins AFB, which is just south of Macon Ga.   I went to a lot of dive bars and heard a lot of good music.

Yeah, and I can't believe Liberace was gay. I mean, women loved him! I didn't see that one coming.

And damn near everyone watched HeeHaw on Saturday night. Very few admitted to it.
