So, I actually just read through all of the charging documents. It really looks to me like Matt is only being charged with conspiracy and only because he accepted sponsorship funds in exchange for promoting the product. In essence, he really just needs to prove that he felt that the product was completely legal. They also claim his go fund me campaign was furthering the conspiracy but that really thin at best. All of the structuring charges are against Ervin, who will likely have a real problem getting past those charges. Right, wrong, or indifferent, it's probably a violation of law.
