I enjoyed it but as usual, they'll screw it up around season 3.

This is the warship Rocinante

This is the warship Rocinante...

It took me a couple episodes to get into it. I wasn't sure where it was going there at the beginning, but I stuck it out. I was glad I did. That one scene is the most bad ass of any of these types of shows since the BSG's atmo jump.

It's definitely worth the watch if you enjoy sci-fi, but having read the books, at some point it's like being at 'Animal Kingdom' ... it's not really Africa, it's an entertainment park with an African theme. By way of analogy, it's not really the Expanse anymore it's a scifi show with an Expanse theme.

I had a hard time identifying with either. Both come from worlds governed by shitty, socialistic, excessively powerful governments that lack much in the way of moral conduct. The Martians do have some positive cultural attributes that most from Earth have lost, but not enough to be redeeming. If that setting were our future, it would be a very depressing one.

Outlaw Star seemed to be one of, if not the most "libertarian" sci fi show I have ever seen.

That said it has been a loooooong time since I watched it all.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about.
