You should probably let S&W, Ruger and SIG know that. We sell a ton of them.

Agreed.  I don't get the .380 anymore.

I'd rather have the 42.

Yep.

Recoil is a thing, subcompact pistols suck to shoot, and not everyone is a 20-50 year old alpha male.

If someone finds it much easier to shoot a .380 and the ammo they carry still hits the ballistics testing benchmarks, why not?

Comparing dimensions on Glocks site, the 26 and 28 are identical.

Because you know all the glock fan boys will buy this. And in a year glock will do what they should have, and all the fan boys will buy the new one too. Glock would never jump from D to F if F was much better, they will release E first and a year later do the F.

Sort of.

It has a tilting barrel, but it doesn't appear to recoil with the slide any appreciable distance. It looks like the beveled edge of what would normally be a locking surface of the barrel serves to help push the barrel straight down as soon as the slide starts to move rearward. So it sort of locks but isn't really adding any meaningful delay. It's an artifact of being derived from a 9mm design.

Probably makes it shield ez level of strength to rack the slide. Might be a good gun for someone with weaker hands.

There's no

Correction once the sig 365 380 hit the market there is no need for a glock 380 DS.

@rtlm

That's because the Glock 25 and 28 were originally intended for markets in which 9mm was forbidden. There are a number of countries where any military-issued round is off limits for civilian use. In response to that, Glock built .380 versions of the 19 and 26. The 25 and 28 didn't have enough import points to pass BATFE's import test, so pretty much the only way to get them into the U.S. until now was through a law enforcement purchase-whether it was a department order or an individual officer buying one. For some inexplicable reason, Glock has finally decided to start making them in Smyrna to sell here.

I was looking at it more from a holster cross combability.

My SWMBO is really talented in hand throw pottery and ceramics.

I had her make me a Glock in clay, used a very dark glaze on it, and used some stamping tools that came close to the same font.

Very few got the joke.

Even worse we lost it in a move a few years ago and never found it again.

No interest in the 28 but the 25 is neat because it is weird.  Glock 19 but .380.  Kinda want one.

Bit of a double stack .380 renaissance this year with the Beretta 80x, Tisas MC-14T, and now these previously forbidden fruit Glocks.

Yeah, the 28 will work in your Glock 26 holsters.

If that's the case I might pick one up as they can share the same holster. The wife likes shooting the 42 and can deal with the recoil of the 26 for a few rounds, so why not best of both worlds.

Only if they make a 33 round magazine for it, maybe a 50 round drum.

TL;DW: it's a G26 in .380 that couldn't be imported due to the GCA, so Glock is going to build them here.

It's not the form factor I'd want for the cartridge, but it's forbidden fruit some have wanted for 20+ years.
