Bulky. Flimsy. Ejection port is too small. Magazine catch and mags will be fragile. The barrel shroud will be all queso, when the barrel is enfuego. Fire snake.... Jesus wept

The latter uses rather radical new technology as far as feeding & ejection. The G36 operating system is similar to the traditional and familiar Kalashnikov. Refined, of course, but still Kalashnikov. |

these have been out for a while..
i have never seen them carried in the streets of mexico. even in the interior. M-16s and the G3s along with HK beltfeeds is what i always see. wonder if they are only issued to a select few.. but this weapon has been around a while... why all the drooling now .. ? edit one parade is only time i have seen these in person . |

There is a weird round pre-stage mechanism in place to make that work. I am calling bull on 2100 rpm bursts, especially with AR/STANAG mags: I don't think the spring in the mag can actually feed the rounds that fast with the reliability required. G36 mags, which is what their mags look like, are better, but probably not better enough. I'd buy one in semi auto - it looks like they learned and applied the lessons from the G36, the SCAR, and the ACR. Now I know what it reminds me of - that Czech rifle that looks a LOT like a ACR. |

Didn't they initially get sued by HK over this for basically copying the G36? Then they met with H&K and H&K agreed to drop the suit. That was my understanding.

Last spring I worked on a project that was sending CNC and other machines to Mexico (US areospace company). Basically disconnecting the electrical from the machines for the move. Talked to some of the experienced techs who were sent to Mexico to help them ramp up for production. Even after mucho hours in instruction and babysitting, those stupid fkrs were tearing up (NEW) million dollar CNC systems. |

According to the periodical, “La Jornada” this accusation resulted in the dismissal of the director of military industry directorate, General Alfredo Oropeza Garnica. After a thorough inspection by the German company, Heckler and Koch acknowledged that the Mexican assault rifle was not a pirated copy. (1) (2) SEDENA, through a public information release (Record no: 0000700109506) declared that there are “no documents” indicating any pending legal action against General Juan Alfredo Oropeza Garnica. Wow they actually beat HK! sort of

H&K looked at these and decided not to sue for infringement. I'm willing to bet they were laughing so hard, H&K didn't have the heart to sue the Mexicans over that.
