The 3rd burst mode fires at 2100rpm , which I think would be pure awesomeness.

Bulky. Flimsy. Ejection port is too small. Magazine catch and mags will be fragile. The barrel shroud will be all queso, when the barrel is enfuego. Fire snake.... Jesus wept

How many cartel houses you been kicken the door in?  Those guys are a lot more skilled with real world experience then 99.99% of the comandos here, and with very little training to boot.

You're right.

Go into someone else's house and start a fire fight?

No way.

I'd just set the house on fire and wait for everyone to come out.

I'm surprised they don't do that in Mexico.

Of course, they're made in Vegas and here in Utah, so they're not really Mexican.

Nope - the Mexican rifle is nothing at all like an AN-94.  The latter uses rather radical new technology as far as feeding & ejection.

The G36 operating system is similar to the traditional and familiar Kalashnikov.  Refined, of course, but still Kalashnikov.

Someone needs to work out an import deal to sell them here as cheap as possible - at least competitive with the cheapest ARs.

They'd sell so many the Mexican gubment would never again mention our lack of an AWB.

Is there anyone here with actual knowledge of the gun's performance, or are we just doing a "LOL, it's Mexican, and is therefore crap" thread?

these have been out for a while..

i have never seen them carried in the streets of mexico.
even in the interior.  M-16s and the G3s along with HK beltfeeds is what i always see.

wonder if they are only issued to a select few..   but this weapon has been around a while...

why all the drooling now .. ?

edit

one parade is only time i have seen these in person .

Only for the first two shots, with the goal being to put the bullet impacts almost on top of each other in an attempt to get through the target's ballistic plate. There is a weird round pre-stage mechanism in place to make that work.

I am calling bull on 2100 rpm bursts, especially with AR/STANAG mags: I don't think the spring in the mag can actually feed the rounds that fast with the reliability required. G36 mags, which is what their mags look like, are better, but probably not better enough.

I'd buy one in semi auto - it looks like they learned and applied the lessons from the G36, the SCAR, and the ACR. Now I know what it reminds me of - that Czech rifle that looks a LOT like a ACR.

Very funny!  (I do agree with the concept, however.  The rate of fire is a mis-print or an exageration).

Didn't they initially get sued by HK over this for basically copying the G36? Then they met with H&K and H&K agreed to drop the suit. That was my understanding.

Definately a P7. My guess would be the P7M13.

As far as the rifle goes, to the best of my recollection, HK was working on a deal with Mexico to supply G36s to the Army, but
the Mexicans kept dragging their feet. All of the sudden, this little guy shows up, and HK tries to sue the Mexican government.
I don't remember the specifics, but I believe they told HK to pound sand.

That might've been funny a few years ago, but don't kid yourself.  They can make good stuff with the rest of them these days.  I know my dad, who's a machinist, only had good things to say about the quality of their machine work the last he worked with any mexicans on anything.

It's a probably a pretty damned good rifle.

Last spring I worked on a project that was sending CNC and other machines to Mexico (US areospace company). Basically disconnecting the electrical from the machines for the move. Talked to some of the experienced techs who were sent to Mexico to help them ramp up for production. Even after mucho hours in instruction and babysitting, those stupid fkrs were tearing up (NEW) million dollar CNC systems.

Pirating allegations

A short time after the Mexican military deployed its new weapon on the 16th of September, 2006, the German company Heckler and Koch (HK) declared that the Mexican weapon was a pirated copy of the company’ G36. According to the periodical, “La Jornada” this accusation resulted in the dismissal of the director of military industry directorate, General Alfredo Oropeza Garnica. After a thorough inspection by the German company, Heckler and Koch acknowledged that the Mexican assault rifle was not a pirated copy. (1) (2) SEDENA, through a public information release (Record no: 0000700109506) declared that there are “no documents” indicating any pending legal action against General Juan Alfredo Oropeza Garnica.

Yep....and Rafael Mendoza was a pretty gifted firearms designer. His boy Hector designed the HM-3 submachine gun, which I have handled and is a well made third gen SMG.

That's the story I remember reading. HK accused them of infringing on their design patents and the Mexican Govt. met with them and eventually the problem went away and HK released a statement that it was not a design infringement. The story makes me think some kind of back door deal was cut with HK.

2,100 rpm is crazy. IIRC the German MG42 only fired around 1,200 - 1,500 rpm and that thing was like a buzz saw. 2,100 rpm with only one barrel seems high.

H&K looked at these and decided not to sue for infringement.  I'm willing to bet they were laughing so hard, H&K didn't have the heart to sue the Mexicans over that.

And this is a company that sued over a pot-metal .22 clone made by an airsoft company.
