The interesting thing *if* BTC does hit the floor, will it take all cryptos with it or will money that's in BTC flee into alts? I can't see everyone just going straight to fiat during this mess (again...assuming it plays out.) So while BTC (and probably the Big 3) takes a beating, perhaps some other coins go on an insanity run.

Man XRP has really tanked. Thought I was going pretty well to buy some more at 99 cents. Hopefully everything will go back up in January. Verge seems to be stabilizing around 16-1700 but who knows.

I think it goes into alts. Although Verge and Ripple are both down significantly right now.

The solid tech alts should weather/ grow. The vaporware alts will wither. Buyers won't be looking to spend premium prices if even the king is dethroned. So they will look to drive prices down to a new floor. But the alts with the goods should have strong enough support to withstand the downward pressure. That's what I see happening.

I dont understand this though, they are intrinsically linked. If bitcoin goes way down and the alts go way up the USD per SAT is still way lower? Or am I reading that wrong?

So what exchange besides Bittrex (not taking new accounts right now) sells both XVG and XRP? Tired of signing up to one place to find out thry don't do what I am looking for because they don't specify what you can and can't buy until you sign up. Trying to get some ripple/verge love while the love is there.

The rules didn't change. Some people were misinterpreting them to allow like kind exchanges, but almost everyone I know knew that was never going to be allowed.

like-kind was apparently already draconian: cannot trade a dairy cow for a beef steer under like-kind.

If you're a farmer, there's a very significant difference between the two -- a dairy cow is a long term income generating asset (iow they generate income continually for many years), a beef steer is one-year buy & sell/butcher. So they would be treated very differently come tax time.

Yeah none of the announcements are moon shots. They are individual bricks in a foundation on a very long journey. A million users here, 10 million there....creating user stickiness with your coin. That's how you get to the Alibaba's of the world.
