It was a very good episode. Funny and deep at the same time. For those who can remember it, it had a sort of the Northern Exposure quality to it.
Well written. |

Good episode that didn't have to rely on special effects. I was highly sceptical with the start of Season 2, but it's getting better. They missed a chance for a damn good WTF? moment at the end when Lt. Malloy's GF had her fiance take a picture of them together with her cellphone, and having the picture be discovered on the original cellphone from the time capsule. View Quote |

I thought so too. I think Orville is serious sci fi disguising itself as a parody. The 2 part episode is more evidence. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I thought it was a really good episode. An interesting take on Time Travel without having to actually do it. Well done. Season 2 is far better sorted and it shows. And Bortis smoking is one of the better scenes this season |

Gordon Malloy was on the Enterprise 25 years before The Orville . before the mohawk |

Watched part 2 last night and my jaw is on the floor! Fantastic. I haven't watched a big space armada battle on the edge of my seat in a long, long time. Show deserves an Emmy for that two-episode arc, but some stupid doctor show will win instead. Also, I get it that those fucking kids were integral to the evolution of Isaac and a necessary plot device, but I don't want to see either of them again for very long time. It was on par with ST Battle of Wolf 359 or B5 Battle Of The Line . Kids and Dr seem shoehorned and annoying . |

LOL you pass by the enemy ship within five feet and are surprised when they put a tractor beam on your ass???
|
|
Only The Orville can have a space and land battle scored to ‘9 to 5’.
And another ST alumni joins the cast. I that position we’re going to see her semi-regularly. |

How is it that Firely gets cancelled but this shit show keeps on? Even Star Trek Discovery keeps on with pushing the gay bullshit! I'm sick of it. View Quote The Orville wins because there are TONS of Star Trek fans supporting it, plus Seth's fans. Firefly was great, but they were trying to pull fans out of thin air. They didn't get a group of people looking for a show like it and Joss was obviously not influential enough to get more corporate support from Fox. |
|
it sucked haven't the Orville be gone for three weeks but they positioned themselves nicely because they have two more episodes while Discovery only has one more episode this season.
The Time capsule episode was boring for me but Bortus smoking completely made up for the rest of it. Once again, he's getting the funny skits Worf got (I am not a merry man, etc). |

My 8 year old watched this week's episode with me live (I didn't want to wait for Hulu the next day or PlayStation Vue for 9pm Texas time). Her eyes lit up when they started playing Dolly Parton. she has never heard 9 to 5, but she definitely recognize her voice from a movie that she loves.

I couldn't tell for sure; were the guns the Moklan women had based on FN FS2000's?

Laughed my ass off at the Dolly stuff.
Deanna Troi was a cool Cameo. Wonder if we see her back. |

During the big shoot out on the colony, were their weapons are set to stun, or to kill?
Big body count. Even if there was a “diplomatic solution”, do the Muclans just police up their 50 dead guys, pile them into shuttles, and go back to business as usual? |

Yep, the “Now kiss” meme popped up in my thoughts quite a few times.

View Quote That bastard stole Adrianne Palicki from me. As a married man I should probably not admit it, but that woman pushes every button I have. In all of Hollywood there are only two women that do that to me: Adrianne Palicki and another woman whom I don't remember (but have stated her name here) because of now more frequent senior moments. Shit! When you start forgetting the names of women you've had the hots for for 30 years you know you're screwed. |

Will we get a season 3? Glad I stuck with the show after season 1. Their best epps for me use the formula of the old Star Trek shows.
Edit to add.. Man, Adrianne Palicki is rail thin most likely due to her having Coeliac disease but wow. |

Young Kelly has a definite original Star Trek vibe going on with the outfit, hair and makeup. She has that mid 1960's look down. Hot as freaking HELL! View Quote |

Interesting episode, always liked a time travel arc as long as they don't use it to blow up the Enterprise in a spectacular fashion, again, and hit the reset button.
