Russia sides with Russia just like the USA sides with the USA. I know quite a lot of average Joe Russian people. None of them hate America and none of them believe anyone in Russia hates America. Just like any smart American a smart Russian knows our governments just like to play off eachother to make sure their defense budgets stay fat.
In the not so distant future we will probably have more in common with Russia than Europe as Europe slides further into socialism. The reason Russia has historically backed Democrats is because Republicans were always the ones selling the anti Russia crap. Obama and Hillary started using Russia as a punching bag to look tough and Trump wanted to get along with them so they support Trump. Same shit we do with every other nation. You all better get with it. Russia doesn't really give a fuck about what we do nowdays unless we are causing shit with their neighbors they have to deal with. Europe is more actively intent on bringing us down than any other region in the world. They already have a large portion of Americans siding with them too. ETA : the Russians I know do say some of the old cold war guys still think America is out to get them . Much like the grumpy old men in here. |

Decades of the death cult of communism has destroyed the human spirit there. Men drink themselves to death by sixty. The natural environment is totally ruined. Large oil and gas reserves are what's keeping it from totally disappearing. |

Your analogy is shit and most of your post is shit. Obama wanted me dead. Obama wanted to destroy our country and everything it stands for. He wanted to give it away to foreign interests so they could take over. I do side with Putin over Obama, but I trust neither.
Of course Putin doesn't have American interests at heart. He has his own interests first, and somewhere down the list, he looks out for Russian interests. People appreciate a strong leader who isn't out to sabatoge his own country, which is probably why arfcommers like him. More of a respect thing than love. |

Russia's support of Western leftists in the 1960s-1970s was more successful than any military victories their revolutionaries won. Now,the derpy "Russians hate queers and Muslims too" right eats up the same bullshit that had idiots waving Viet Cong flags in the name of freedom.
This thread shows exactly why Russia is stupid not to tamper with US politics though I have no idea why people who should know better want to wrestle with the pig though. Ignore it and it will go away. |

Many folks are very focused on Russia when we actually have more external opponents (or enemies) than just them.
Russia is still dealing with many internal issues such as a very low birth rate vs. mortality rate and an economy that's still nothing to write home about. Conversely, the folks on the other side of the Pacific have a much stronger economy that has been outpacing other strong ones and is already the second in the world. Despite not very much "communist" lately, they are still more communist than Russia and I would not turn my back to them either. They also have some interesting books and strategies on how to deal with enemies that fit the issue we have been facing with liberals. http://changingminds.org/disciplines/warfare/36_strategems/36_stratagems.htm So, adding all this together, I still think we need to deal with the internal hyena(s) and control it. Of course, never taking our eyes from the one(s) outside of the fence. Furthermore, who was the famous guy in American history who said we deal with the internal enemy first? Cannot recall the name, but someone already addressed this dilemma sometime ago. |

From what I've heard through various gamers in the former USSR...
The Russian Gov't, Putin in particular, hate America because they are staunch old guard Soviets. The Russian people, however, don't really give two fucks. They care more about making ends meet, getting drunk, and having fun.(These were mainly young people, 16-32) Many certainly don't like us, but they don't outright hate us. They don't like their own government any more than we like ours, because the lies in their propaganda are even more blatant than ours. They're just used to it by now. |

The premise of this thread is brain dead.
Russia plays 100% of the time for Putin, and 87% in the interest of the Russian people. The American government is split between the interests of the American People and deep pockets of global financiers like Soros, the Saudi's and others. We had 8 years of Obama, and our Government was far more interested in the protection of global interests than our own people. The conflicts of interest we have had with the Russians in the Ukraine and now in Syria have been over the interests of the globalists, not the American people. |
