If you can check out (with a cartful) faster using one, you're shopping at the wrong stores.
Costco and publix cashiers set the gold standard. It really isn't that difficult, they're set up for efficiency, those self checkout kiosks aren't, unless they have a belt and you tag team. To each their own. |

The entire reason I shop at publix is because of the self checkout thing elsewhere. I worked retail as a first job in hs and am happy to let a friendly young cashier earn a living doing it for me. I can certainly save money shopping at Walmart if I'm forced to do their job. I simply don't want to. |

I was forced to use a traditional checkout isle tonight. It was awful. Took twice as long as if I'd done it myself.
